Hey,
I am really interested in the missions that were once the responsibility of the UDT's (clearing landing obstacles, basic underwater demo, hydrographic surveys ect.) I know that they are part of the SEAL mission now but I feel that the SEALs focus much more on DA than they do on the missions that were once the job of UDT's. Has SWCC or EOD assumed some of these roles? The Navy website claims that EOD's take care of beach obstacles, mines ect. and I was just wondering how close the responisbilities of EOD's/SWCC were to that of the former UDT's
Thanks

P.S. Does SWCC ever do SCUBA or combat swimming type stuff?

I won't comment on SWCC, as I'm not familiar enough with what they do/don't do. I would not say we solely assumed any of the UDT mission, however EOD and SEAL missions have some overlap when it comes to the water.

what kind of overlap would this be?

Areas within mine countermeasures, other aspects of where one groups mission ends, and the other begins. Any more than that starts going into the realm of OPSEC.
