Alright, for some reason I've had a problem with my right leg while running. I have always stretched before and after runs, and on "no run days." But lately, after about 1.5- 2 miles, my right leg starts to burn and get stiff feeling from the knee down, including the calf, shin and ankle. At first I could run through it and just suck it up, but lately it gets worse. I've found that if I stop and stretch my calves and hammie's again, it goes away, for awhile. I initially thought it was shin splints, but it is only my right leg, and only during running. I've noticed that my calf muscle gets really tight during all this. I've also noticed that I unconsiously power with just my right leg. Like my right leg does all the running and my left leg just kinda goes through the motions. I've never noticed doing this before. Also, I was running about 8-10 miles before this without any problems.

So, here are my thoughts:
My back has been a little "off" lately, and I wonder if somehow my right leg is longer than my left leg. I've heard of this happening before.

The second thing I was thinking was that somehow by powering my run with just my right leg has caused my right calf to develop faster, causing shin splints on only my right leg.

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Well, I'm no doctor, but what you're describing sounds like compartment syndrome. You should probably have that checked out to make sure nothing is torn or damaged, but it sounds like compartment syndrome to me.

You big heavy weights will have tons of leg problems with running.

it could be that your right leg is significantly longer than your left. wear stihlettos on your left foot when you run
