I've been getting bored with just going out and putting miles on my legs so i came up with a killer work out in case anyone wants to try it.

Hop on a treadmill and do a mile warm up in about 8:00. Bump the speed up to 11.5 and the elevation up to 5.0 and run for 1 minute. Hop off for one minute and then hop back on do this ten times. Then increase the speed to 12.5 and increase the elevation to 8.0 and run for 30 seconds on then hop off for 30 seconds. Do this one 5 times.

Once you're finished running hop on the leg press machine and put on a weight that you can do 25 times comfortably. Do 5 sets of 20 with 2 minutes rest in between. then once ur finished with that do 2 sets of 100 bodyweight squats. you'll thank me in the morning. I really think that doing this workout once or twice a week has really helped me so i thought id pass it along.

What distance do you end up running after all of the sets?

I'm with you borus.....I get too damned bored on 'em. Where I live I have lots and lots of BIG hills with distance to enjoy.......NOT! LOL

yeah treadmills suck but its not really that bad when your doing a sprint workout especially when you've got someone else to run with and you're trying to bury them. but to answer youre question since your keeping the treadmill on the whole time even when youre not on its not accurate but you generally end up running about 3900m when your on.

I like to move across the ground not have the ground move under me, plus I can put out as hard as I want and not have a treadmill tell me how fast to run, plus I don't want to face plant at 12 miles an hour on a treadmill if I trip, haha. That's a good workout though, I do some sprint interval workouts at my track and they kick your a**.
