I recently started picking up my legs a little higher when I am running. (I am following the Chi Running as well as I can.) Recently, the joint where my leg meets my hip has been hurting on the right side and my shin splints are not getting any better. Any ideas/stretches that can help with this?

Hey man, yea that sucks when an injury affects your running. Try doing the ITB stretch, and also a variant of it where your right foot rests on your left kneecap and your right leg is parallel with the floor. Then place your right hand/arm through the hole your legs made and have your left hand hold your right behind your left thigh and rock back onto your back and hold. I hope that was clear enough. Oh yea..and take some glucosamine for your joints. Its excellent for rebuilding the cartilage.

yea it's most likely ITB your itb runs from your hip along your leg and it keeps your knee's in place. Do some ITB stretches before and after running. Does your hip "pop" sometimes too when your walking?

totally sounds like an IT issue.

search the site for related threads: IT Band and Shin Splints. there's a ton of info on here.

Make sure to ice your legs after you run and also before you go to bed.
