Does anyone know if U.S. Tactical is letting individual people use there new crossfit gym? Or is it just groups with government contracts? I'm interested because myself and several others here in Texas are going to bud/s early next year and some of us are moving to cali early. Most of us are reservist's and would love to know if it's open to military. I'm sure everyone in cali would want to know this too.

thanks for any info!

the way the website makes it sound is that it's open to anyone.

Whether you’re a soldier, police officer, firefighter, runner, triathlete, cyclist, business executive or homemaker, you can attain your optimal fitness level with CrossFit.

The U.S. Tactical CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability, making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We use the same routines for individuals seeking to get into shape for the first time as elite athletes or warriors prior to an event or combat. The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree, not kind.

You're a reservist going to BUD/S? Have they opened that back up again? Please tell if so.

Also, there are a few Crossfit gyms in SD and a few of them are either run by or frequented by active and former Team guys. That plus the fact that you have access to the beach in Coronado (not that it has magic powers or anything) as well as the O-course (if you have mil ID) means you'll have quite a bit in your tadpole arsenal. Good luck and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

As a reservist you have to get a form 368 signed by your command giving you a sliding scale of 90 days to be released to active duty. If you have any bonuses remaining you will have to pay back an adjusted amount. Your command cannot refuse unless you don't meet the requirements for training. Everything else will have to be done through a SEAL motivator in your area. They are in charge of EVERYTHING now. You will need a current secret clearance and you will need an active duty recruiter to file your paperwork because the ecm will have to release you. There isn't much else to do. You don't need to go through the ringer for anything but remember the recruiters know nothing! You only need your clearance, up to date medical, 368, financial statement and one reference letter and that is it. I just went through all this so don't let them fool you into filling out ten thousand pieces of paperwork. Oh one last thing, they will try to take a paygrade from you DO NOT LET THEM! It's bs they tried to do it to 3 of us and they can't no matter what they say.

Irn Mik,
First off, thanks for the info. I have one more question for you if you don't mind: what happens if/when you DOR or get injured at BUD/S? Do you still owe an active duty obligation of some sort or can you go back to being a reservist (which is what used to happen)? Once again, thanks for the thorough response.

U.S. Tactical is open to the public. If you would like to get more information: email Rob Ord. Rob is the director of Training there. His email is robert.ord@ustactical.com. Tell him "Joey said nobody gives as good an *** whoopin as you do. If this is true, Where do I sign up?" You are going to love to hurt with him.

Thanks for the info guys! Much appreciated. For IT3, it ain't the good ole days, you fail now you don't get to go home. There have been some changes though. I haven't seen documentation to prove this but my Chief just went back on active and he's a SEAL so I believe him, if you make it to hell week and get injured you now have the option (if your not rolled) to choose to go swcc or diver. You DOR and you go to the fleet for the remainder of your contract. There are alot of changes happening everyday with this program so it's hard to keep up with it all.
