i have 20/140 eyesight and under requirements it said you need to have better than 20/200 eyesight uncorrected. so when i go to enlist do i tell them i would like PRK and i get it done with the NAVY or can i get it done by a civilian?

As long as your no worse than 20/200 in each eye and are correctable to at least 20/20 then you'll be able to get a waiver for your eyes thats what happened to me it took a long time to get but at first the Corpsman at MEPS had be only correctable to 20/25. After you make it through a certain point in BUD/S they'll send you home to get lasik and you'll be reclassed once your ready. Thats what one of my recruiters said about the lasik. The top part I'm positive about because I just got my SEAL contract completed.

so i use the glasses they provide to get through BUD/S and then they send me to get PRK? or do i just not use anything for my eyes? contacts are out of the question seeing how sand doesnt mix very well with them and theyre a hassle

I think you use glasses when you need them. PT and all that I wouldn't use them but I'm not sure. I think my SPECWAR Mentor was saying something about how he heard of recruits at BUD/S taking marksmanship tests with glasses on but I can't be sure.
