View Full Version : Resting Cycles?

Hey, when do you guys generally take more extended resting periods (like 5-7 days in length). Obviously, with a 6/1 workout schedule this would be necessary every once in a while. Any input would be appreciated.

Personally, I take about a week off every three to four months. The only thing I will do, during that week are a few swims. Seems to work well for me. However, I follow the WOD on the Crossfit website. Their format gives two days a week off.

personally i dont plan or schedule rest periods of that length because **** happens and you will eventually miss days

True, but if you don't take rests you can very easily make yourself prone to injury, especially doing workouts of this caliber 6 days in a row.

I rest periodically when I seem to hit a plateau. This way it gives my body time to recover and I am usually stronger the following week and can make more progress when things have really started to slow. Sometimes I might take one week off in a month or go three plus months without a rest. It all depends but I think its good to do.
