i just joined 24 hour fitness here an hour ago and i got a pretty good deal for being 16 years old. 19.99 a month with an 80 processing fee. Now my question is what should i work on for BUD/S. i am going to do an all around weight lifting experience to get in shape.... but what else should i really focus on? upper body strength is a must ... ill be joining a pool later on this year... running will go hand in hand with it too!

anything else?

thanks!

$80 processing fee? that sounds expensive. i hope thats a nice gym. you should have joined somewhere with a pool sooner like the YMCA.

why the hell doesn't 24 hour fitness have a pool? If it's open 24 hours a day it should have a damn pool.

Dominic,
You may have noticed all of the talk about CrossFit. The SEAL training regimen incorporates a lot of CrossFit, and many SEALs are CrossFit instructors. Checkout the Workout of the Day under the "train" button... These workouts are designed by NavySEALs.com specifically for those preparing for BUD/s. Good luck!

oh, rest yourself.

24hourSport, supersport, and ultrasport have a pool. hence "sport."

You definitly need to take a look at the CrossFit WOD's and get a feel for those. However, if you intend to keep your membership at 24hour, you'll need to find a new gym. I have heard countless stories of CrossFitters getting kicked out of commercial gyms. Besides, about 90% of the equipment in those places are useless.

You know what, I hate to say this but cancel your gym membership.

Join Sea Cadets, youll have a pass to get onto the nearest military base. The military base will more than likely have a pool, gym, and a range of workout equipement for free use. I would know, my local base does this, and the 32nd street base in San Diego does this also.
