is a two handed kettlebell swing with 40lbs two kettlebells weighing 40lbs i.e. one in each hand, or two hands on 1 40lbs kettle bell

also, what would you do if only dumbells were available - would you have one in each hand, or two hands on one>

I'm 99% sure he means two hands on 1 40lb KB or DB. That's ALWAYS how they do it in any professional Crossfit videos I've seen. Don't worry if you don't have Kettlebells, just use a DB (it's a little awkward to hold at first but you get used to it). Trust me, 40 lbs is tough enough with two hands, it's gotta be god awful with just one:)

KB Swings:

One 40lbs KB (or Dumbell). Swing with both hands. Look at the exercise demos to ensure proper form.

34:17 modified for time crunch: 1/4 mi at level 10-11 on treadmill to replace 1 mile runs.

Note: rubber coated DB's get very slippery when wet!
