Hey fells I have been following the workouts and they are extremely demanding. I was wondering if you guys were still doing swims everyday and if you were running any extra. I want to improve my training times and avoid breakdown.

You're definately right in the fact that the crossfit workouts are extremely demanding. Personally I like to do some supplemented running and I also do a good bit of swimming. Once I started adding extra runs/swims to my workouts my times really did some improving. Good luck.

I've recently come to the opinion that I should train to improve my WOD scores. So I do add some supplemental stuff, basically aiming for 2-a-day sessions... one WOD and then some running, swimming, or basic PT.
Now, keep in mind what the PST and BUD/S requirements are. Train towards those goals, but i also think that by improving your WOD scores the rest will follow.

I was told on socnet by a instructor who had spent time instructing at SQT and had just left BUD/S as an instructor to retire, that crossfit workouts would be the best prep for BUD/S, in addition to some running and swimming. He also said that 2nd phase has now shifted to a crossfit based PT program to supplement other requirements, o-course/4 mile timed runs/ and so on. I guess that it drastically reduced the injury rates. I can't confirm any of this, just what he told me, and I know they verify everyones credentials on that site as well.
