G'Day All
When I dive I seem to go through heaps of air I feel pretty comfortable diving now and people have tried to help me but i still use use loads of air
please help
TRY BREATHING USING YOUR DIAPHRAM INSTEAD OF YOUR LUNGS - TAKE A DEEP DIAPHRAM BREATH - HOLD IT A FEW SECONDS - THEN SLOWLY LET IT OUT...THIS WILL TAKE AIR LOWER INTO YOUR LUNGS AND UTILIZE PARTS OF YOUR LUNGS THAT DON'T GET USED MUCH. AS YOU PRACTICE THIS YOU WILL SEE BETTER OXYGEN UPTAKE AND LUNG CAPACITY...JUST A SUGGESTION - Mark Divine (SEAL Team One reservist)

if you're out diving and using a lot of air, it might not be your breathing. how often are you using your bcd to correct neutral buoyancy? once you learn to use your lungs for correct neutral buoyancy you're air consumption will increase dramatically. just a suggestion.

first of all, be in shape. being in shape, you will need to breath less and be able to go farther. also be neutraly boyant and let your legs do all the work. finnaly, relax.
