What time in an EOD's training class do they have the highest point of attrition? During their basic dive training, or follow-on? Thanks. By the way, didn't somone say EOD drop rate is about 75%?

Dive School has the highest attrition rate. I don't have statistics on drop rates, but the last Navy class graduated 3. Many are set back vice dropped.

Only 3?! Does it help if you already know how to dive? Or does that actually hurt you sometimes??

The three I was refering to graduated from EOD School. Knowing how to dive doesn't hurt in the area of confidence, however you may learn bad habits. At dive school, it's not the diving, but the water proficiency training that gets people.

They make sure you are comfortable in the water, both with your regulator in and out.

During water proficiency week do most the guys who are weeded out drop on their own, or are they kicked out?

Most drop on their own. It's a come to Jesus moment, when you figure out whether you have it or not.
