In the past weeks i had some problems with my right knee so i went to the doctor and he said it might be a meniscus tear ..he suggested to wait and see ..meanwhile i went to wrestling practice and matches until last saturday when something bad happened . While i was wrestling in a tournament , the opponent got my leg and applied pressure on the outside of my knee so i tried to get out of his move by pulling my leg out... Some kind big pressure fell on the outside of my knee and it bent INWARDS with A BIG pop. The pain was pretty intense but i managed through it ..that evening i went to the er because it was swollen and tender on the insider. The x ray showed nothing so they sent me home on crutches and a knee brace. I'm pretty sure i injured my mcl but i'm more curious about the meniscus ... my knee is pretty sturdy when i apply weight on it while bent but straightening it is pretty bad. The only pain i have is when i press on the mcl and when i try to bring my heel to my butt, before it hurt when i tried to straighten it but it seems it doesn't anymore. Do you think its just the mcl or also the cartilage who are injured?
ps. No pops after the initial big pop ..i'm mostly worried about being able to bend my knee to an acute angle .
The last question is how harmful would it be if i would have a tear in the meniscus for my future ?

Well , meanwhile i went to the doctor and got an mri, it turned out that i have a partial tear in my acl and my mcl ligaments. I've religiously attended physical therapy sessions and pushed myself through all the pain that by now i can bend my knee all the way down and i have about 5 degrees left till full extension. It hasn't been such a long while since my injury and i can now walk without a limp , jog , do high knees , and even take a quick 50 foot sprint, the physical therapy trainer declared me an animal and said he never saw someone recover so quickly.
