EOD officer selection

Hey everyone,

I just had a question about EOD officer selection. I'm in graduate school right now and thinking about trying to get on with the navy. How would I go about getting an EOD opprotunity. Can I get an EOD slot prior to entering OCS, or do I have to go through OCS and then put in for my prefered MOS. And is it like the SEALS where you are guaranteed a chance if you can pass the fitness test and just volunteer, or is it more competitive? Any info would be appreciated.

The O side is extremely competitive. There are limited slots, and quite a few competing. I’m not sure how it works exactly, as to whether it is before or after OCS when you would be selected for the program. The good news is now, if selected you go straight into the pipeline. No more ship tour.
