View Full Version : FXGuy's Movie Could Use 2 or 3 LBT 90s era Tac Vests

Long story into an epic; one of these days I might grind up enough production funding for a film script I've written that features a couple of flashback scenes to the early 90s with a VBSS team raiding a "fictional country's" oil derrick out in the Persian Gulf... ["FC" depends, I might decide to go politically incorrect and smack around Iran or some other middle-east coastal, depends on if I ever "really" want to break into Hollyweird]
In order to stay as close to 'period' as I can I was hoping to outfit at least 2 or 3 of the characters with London Bridge [Trading] float/tactical vests like were used during that time-
Problem is, the design's changed and SBU crews/Teams have gone to the OD color [if, indeed the vest pretty much stayed the same] to meet camoflage requirements...[totally guessing here, but the number NSN 42200 14745159? came up somewhere on a Google search]
I'm hoping someone might have an idea of where a stockpile of used ones might be "fermenting"- seeing as "new" is both cost prohibitive, and quite frankly, you'd want to see a crack team of frogs wearing gear that looked like they'd been using it against the badguys and not lawn chairs & daquaries... Soooo...
Are there any DMRS locations that'd chuck this kind of thing to a struggling FX studio, or were these items so personal of a nature that they'd travel with its owner even into retirement? Certainly not looking for a hand-out; just looking for a way-point...

Have you contacted London Bridge directly? These guys have always bent over backwards for me including doing custom work on whatever I wanted for a really reasonable price. They have all their previous designs in storage just in case some old boat guy like me liked the vest from 2000 or whatever.

They are good ****s. They should help you out.

OUTSTANDING!
Pop me 3 pix- a front, back and profile [at an angle] and jet it over to "industrialspfx@gmail.com" and I'll give you a chat- I'm miserly, so you tell me what it's worth to you and I'll try to make it worth your while. Just remember, I'm looking for the floatation LBVs- not the Blackhawk types [too current- especially since the film The Rock].
Just remember, I may have to front some "buckage" for this insane project and I'd also need at least 3 [2 more with your's in the till]... If that means one-at-a-time I might be able to spring for the London units even "as new" thanks to Kinni's recommendation.
Kinni- I hadn't gone the "custom route" yet because of my budget; but just knowing the fact that they'd be willing to go custom helps immeasurably! [Wanna play "technical advisor" one day? I'll keep you in mind- yeah, yeah, you'd rather be Tyra banks' "Bikini Flouffer" right? LOL!] [ummmm- me too...]
Anyway
PS- who provided that "rad" [boy, does that slang term show my age?] med/supply pack that integrated into the back of the vest? Personally, I thought those were incredibly cool & functional looking!
for anyone cruising the site that doesn't know what I'm talking about, I'll try to provide a photo or two in my gallery...
You've been a very big help- I thank you humbly!

FX, any chance I get to set the record straight for SWCC in the movies, I would jump at.
Now the question is, what Sheen brother can we get to play a Boat Guy? Martin Sheen rode on a River Rat boat (Apocolypse), but that doesn't really count since he was supposed to be Army SOF. I'm thinking Emilio Estevez. His brother, Charlie Sheen already has that movie... oh what is it... Navy SEALs? We just have to pry him away from doing "Mighty Ducks 5 - Ducks in Space" starring Makaulay Culkin.
Maybe we could do it on the West Coast and Emilio can jump off the Coronado Bridge. That would definitely top Charlie jumping off the one in Viginia Beach. (If you don't get it, rent Navy SEALs.)
Also, I have 2 OD London Bridge vests. Not sure that will help.

Send me an email what it's worth to you- I might have the $$$ anyway!
