Question for Sandfrog

Im currently enlisted in the Navy and my ultimate goal is to become a SEAL. I have one major problem. My eyesight is 20/200 in both eyes. I took the EOD screening test, passed and Im about to submit my package. I will be classing up in December. My question is am I making a mistake by going EOD and then trying to go to BUD/s? Do you think the Navy will let me drop the NEC once I complete my obligation time in EOD? I am 20 and my command turned my chit down to get my prk done in the civilian sector and the Navy will not preform it on me until I turn 21. For the record I am an undes seaman and Im just not to enthused with the work I currently do.

i am not sandfrog (obviously) but the new requirements regarding eyesight for BUDS is 20/200 so you would be fine as long as it is correctable.....you can go to seal.navy.mil to read about it all

You can go to BUD/S after you complete 36 months of service after you graduate from EOD school (if you make it that far).
