What kind of protien is served in boot? i know in the prison system they dont feed inmates any real meat its all soy based to promote a less aggressive lifestyle. Am i to expect the same kind of "institutional" treatment? Also will i be able to get my hands on things like supplements, amino acids, etc? any help is greatly appreciated.

That is so retarded. It is like high school food. Duh, thats a NO on supplements. You can't take anything. Might as well get off the supplements now you can't use them during BUD/s anyway. Besides if you need them you won't make it anyway.

You mis understood what kind of supplements i was talking about... im not talking about all that crap they sell on tv (xience/creatine). Im talking about things like joint supplements.

In rOz's defense... there are a number of supplements that he might need. Vitamin C, Vitamin B... Hell, a multi vitamin??? These aren't super human drugs people... I personally think the word "supplement" gets used improperly with a lot of folks. Anabolic this, creatine that... these aren't the only so called supplements out there. Anything you buy in that GNC is a "dietary supplement." Go to PUBLIX and look at a vitamin bottle... dietary supplement.

***Very bold statement***

I beg to differ. Some of the greatest athlete's in the world NEED their supplements to perform to there highest standard. For a guy in peak physical shape who is VERY active, he WILL need the support of just a multi vitamin to give him some of the needed nutrients his body will need. To get all the nutrients an Athlete needs from food, he/she would have to eat TONS of very specific foods to get all the needed vitamins and amino's for their body type. An Athlete needs a whole heck of a lot more than an average joe! It also gets burned off a lot quicker i.e.- exercise, metabolism etc...

No rOz, you can't bring dietary supplements to boot camp. But you WILL be able to find much needed nutrients in many of the foods you will be served while you are there! As for BUD/s and dietary supplements... I personally don't know. I don't have any SEAL friends to tell me otherwise. I'd rather see for myself. Only one way to find out right? Even if you can't, how would one prepare to do without certain supplements. You don't :) No big deal. But just for some keen observation, (by the way I don't own the documentary so don't quote me) if you have the ability to watch the "Class 234" documentary, look and you should see a canister of protein sitting in one of the guy's rooms during inspection. Protein is a supplement... but everyone is under the impression that you can't use any??? Hmmmmmmm...

To quote lelee on her earlier post...

That is so retarded

As a SEAL hopeful myself, I too want to believe that Navy SEALs are super human and invincible to everything. But it's just not true. Like any other World renouned, endurance athlete... sooner or later, their body WILL run out of fuel and it WILL break down! It's too bad we can't have Amino Vital pumped intravenously, 24/7 into our hip... Oh well. :)

What the hell are you talking about? Who are you to say he wont make it? I my self Use protein and a multivitamn . I also plan to use them at BUD/s. There are alot of supplements you can use at BUD/s and there are also alot you can't use like creatine. But why not use the ones you can use? Your whole statement is just stupid.

thank you so much guys... i didnt want to bash her because 1. shes a woman and i have to respect that. 2. anything i do say to her will get back to her husband who chances are is a BUD/s instructor and 3. Its obvious she just talks out her *** to hear her self talk.

I myself did see the huge tub o' protein in that kids room during room inspection... and there are some supplements that ive researched that fit the BUD/s mold perfectly.

When I went to bootcamp we were fed WELL! It was actually pretty good food, not 5 star gourmet... but it was still yummy! Every meal had protein, vegetables, carbs, all high in calories and good for recruits to eat! In all seriousness, you will be fine, NO you cannot have any supplements while you are at RTC... I cant remember if I had multi-vitamins... I really dont think I did.

You will be issued Penicillin pills, no more peanut butter shot in the arse! We were all relieved when we found out we didnt have to get that painful shot.

CIA graduates? I hope you dont mean Central Intelligence Agency! The food at RTC is prepared by goodwill employees (civilians). No culinary specialists (CS's).

Right now im just eating 3 meals a day along with assorted snacks through the day (all galley food here in Kings Bay), a protein supplement after workouts (Cytosport), and plenty of WATER! Im in great shape! I cant stress how important hydration is, it will make or break you.

On the weekends I suggest drinking alcohol responsibly if you decide you want to, underage or not, as alcohol keeps us sailors sane and women in our beds! Which is necessary for sailor mental functioning.

Maybe

3. Its obvious she just talks out her *** to hear her self talk.

No it is you kids who haven't accomplished anything and who don't know what you are talking about on here.

and there are some supplements that ive researched that fit the BUD/s mold perfectly.

The kid that started the post said he wanted to get his hands on supplements. I thought he was talking about creatine etc. There are supplements that you can take. I myself take some nutritional supplements. Of course, I don't need them to survive.
