Let me start by giving a little history on this. I was attending a med class and they were showing pics of guy’s faces after being hit with IED's. They would show one guy with ballistic eyewear and one without. Let me tell you that will make a believer out of anyone! Right about the same the Wiley-X was just introducing the New Nerve goggles, new top of the line everything! So I decided that I would try them out. I was getting ready to roll out the door so they had to special order me a pair and luckily I got them the day before I left. I put them on and at first there a little uncomfortable, but I think it was just because there new. Once downrange I rigged it to my helmet to use. I don't think I was wearing them for more than 5 minutes and they fogged up so bad I had to take them off and dumped some water in it. That helped a little but would fog bad when I wasn't moving. That night I got an anti-fog cloth and wiped the inside lenses. The next day we were doing vehicle trng, and guess what FOG! Pissed me off! I used them with NVG's and the low profile is excellent! No clearances issues at all. Up until the point where they fog again. So they may be the on of the best ballistic goggles, but do no good when you have to wipe them out every 5 minutes. I’m going to call Wiley-X to see if maybe I'm doing something wrong. -- Johan

I get the same problem except when shooting. (I dont use these Wiley goggles though) I shoot alot, and I hate it when my eye protection fogs up. Does anyone out know of a good pair of shooting glasses? Thanks

Oakley, I'll never wear anything else again
Seen too many pairs of WileyX SG-1s break during things that they're supposed to be designed to do.
Know a good man who lost an eye wearing Wiley X SG-1s due to an IED and an inherent design flaw.

i use Nikon's 'fog eliminator' on my wiley's, all shooting glasses, and ocular lenses. it won't dissolve multicoated lenses, or harm tinted lenses. Moisture will not condense on the lens surface once applied, but you'll need clean + reapply depending on usage. i get about 20 hours usage before i need to reapply. That’s during rugged usage: crawling, running, etc.. apply softly or it will smear and distort vision.
it's a dry compound so i believe it resists being removed from surfaces better than liquid forms of anti-fog (ex. rain-x anti-fog) when exposed to moisture.
