I'm doing the 12 Weeks to BUD/s workout (Stew Smith) and have had surprising results. I already tried the Warning Order (the 18 week workout) so I wanted to change it up.
My question involves the swim portion of the PST. I did the PST with a 9:36 swim. (It's probably slower now since I've been focusing on my finning). Now, when I swim the CSS, I take 8-12 strokes because, for me, I seem to go faster than when holding my breath and gliding. Any advice? A diver from UCT was watching me swim once and said to take less strokes (3-5) across the pool, but when I do that, I find myself out of breath quicker. He said doing 10 strokes is a waste of effort, but I get a faster time. Doesn't it seem logical to take more strokes and keep up my pace than to take less strokes and glide until I slow? Help?
