I am starting Warning Order but first I got to get a new pair of running shoes to replace my 7 month old Adidas A3. I was searching sportsauthority.com and for running there are a couple of different categories; Cushion and Motion Control. Whats the difference? I have found that Asics are held in pretty high regard on these forums and what about my old Adidas were they a good choice? And New Balance makes a pair of shoes that are supposed to be the best, I know my Col. in JROTC runs in them, are they worth the $200 price tag?

Duckkie, I want you to fill out a profile. That way we know who we're talking to and you'll get a hell of alot less flak around here. You'll also get more response to your questions. Now about the shoes. The fact is everyones feet are different. A shoe that is comfortable for one person may not be comfortable to another. Run in what you feel comfortable in. Find a shoe that will give you a stable platform and support your feet. Price doesn't matter when it comes to running shoes. Look for comfort and support. If they feel good and comfortable to you. Your good to go. About the only difference will be in durability. Some shoes may last longer than others based on quality of consruction, but ultimately its about comfort while your running. Everyone has that one brand they swear by, but like I said. Everyone is different. Personally, I hate New Balance, but I know guys that love them. Don't think to much. Go to a good shoe store and start trying on shoes. Walk around in them a bit. Don't leave untill you find a pair that feels right and comfortable. Thats my advice. I hope that helps. Personally, I run in Kswiss and people think I'm crazy.LOL But thats what I feel comfortable in and what works for me. But I also buy a new pair about every two months..LOL

you should go to a running store and get your feet fitted to shoes that will be good for you. i like mizunos, i have had problems in every other kind of shoe besides for these. the reason is because i went to a running store and they fit me with the best shoes for my feet.

What about a pair of Bates 922? I've been wanting to get a pair in the next month or so. I think this would be the best bet after all if and when you get to BUD/s your going to be wearing Bates not Asics, NB, Adidas you get my point.

i would get them along with a pair of good running shoes. remember you are just training yourself to go to BUD/s and train some more. save your joints and run in good shoes. add the boots in there as well but i personally wouldnt use them every day. i run in boots maybe once a week, usually less. if you feel comfortable running in just the bates go for it.

I am doing warning order right now so would it be best to get a new pair of shoes or the boots? Cause the price on getfitnow.com says sale price but i think it's said that since middle of last year.

I have Bates boots, I got them in January of this year, along with some Navy issue dive socks. I got them from the same website you mentioned, I run in them every time I go running, I was comfortable with running in those boots ever since I got them, these are the first pair of boots I've ever had. I'd take 2 pair of these from getfitnow.com rather than a $200 New Balance shoe. And that price on the website is correct, I got my boots within a week, I had normal shipping, but for some reason, they sent me my socks that I ordered the next day in a seperate box, they could've just sent it in the same box, there was enough room to fit a 2 liter bottle of soda.

Well does anybody recommend just getting the same size as my running shoes if I am going to but some arch support insoles in them and be wearing those thick dive socks with them.

I usually wear size 9 1/2, but I got my Bates boots in size 10, so when I put those dive socks on, it fits perfect. As for insoles, I waited to recieve my boots and try them on to see if I wanted to change the soles, but it was comfortable as it was, but a few extra bucks for added support and comfort won't hurt.

Well I am flat footed so I was going buy some arch supports/insoles to put in them. But I am also doing Warning Order right now, so should I get the boots or a good pair of running shoes?

You should get the boots with the arch support, this way you get the feel for the boots, but still have the support you need, and also become accustomed to running with boots. As for the warning order, running in these pair of boots and also wearing them while doing the pull-ups part of the section, will slightly affect your performance, but not a whole lot.

Well, in some photos I've seen of SEALs, they used a sports shoe, looked like a boot though, but you did say "most" so I'm going to have to say yes.
Should i practice my running in boots or in normal running shoes?
Yes, get accustomed to running in boots, try not to run in boots all the time, switch it up now every now and then.

I have a pair and so do others on here, they're a great pair of boots, whether you're training for BUDs or not.
