Hi.
I have some questions to any SEALs out there.
I have been training hard for some time now and my goal is to make it to BUD/S.
There are however a few obstacles in my way and despite me training my a** off I just have to know if it's even worth wanting to make it any more.
(what I'm trying to say is that what is a dream worth if there's no way on earth it can be fulfilled, no matter how hard you try because of unfortunate circumstances)

Well, the problems...
Cons:
1 I really want to make it to BUD/S but unfortunately I'm a swedish citizen.
2 One eye has a perfect vision but the other one is pretty bad
3 I'm 27 years old

Pros:
1 I speak 3 languages fluently, 2 more relatively well and 1 more I at least understand.
2 I have a half finished geoscience (geology, marine geology, geophysics) college degree.

Now I know I HAVE to be a US citizen in order to apply but as those things work there is no way in h**l I can drop my swedish and obtain an US before I turn 28-29.
Am I screwed just because this or is there a small possibility that noone has told me before?

And no, the swedish armed forces do not train with the SEALs and I don't want to go there anyway. It's all or nothing for me. SEAL or no millitary at all. I'm a bit extreme I know:)

So, hope you guys can help me out or at least tell me what my odds are.

Have a nice evening to you all:)

I would say you are pushing all of the limits for entry into BUD/s. HTe biggie is the Citizenship issue. Vision is also improtant.

It does not look good for you to be honest and straight forward. To get more information, I highly suggest you do extensive research. You can call 1-888-USN-SEAL and visit www.sealchallenge.navy.mil to get more information and you can find contact information as well (call a BUD/S recruiter). Hope this helps and I do wish you the best of luck....

Hey man,
I'll tell you you're not in a good situation, citizenship takes 5 years( 3 if you're in the armed forces or marrid to a U.S citizen) to gey having Permanent residen, so I don't think you can make it cause the limit is 28, but maybe you can get a waiver and get into BUD/s. MAybe there is a way, I've read of a 30 years old guy who got into BUD/s, but as they review it in a case by case basis you never know.
Cal the number they gave you or contact the INS, I'm sure they'll respond to your questions,
