I weigh 255 and i use the bowflex which is different from reg. weights. I was wanting to know if weights would help me lose weight and would it help me in the long run? My goal is to get slim enoguh to where i can use the seal workout rather than regular weights.

Cardio, cardio, cardio in addition to weights will help you lose weight. Not to mention what you eat.

Yea, cardio is the best route to go. try running or even riding a bike. You have to keep your heart rate over 160.00 bpm if you want to start losing weight.
