Would a SEAL team ever have to perform a hostage rescue in local area's? (with in US) For example a huge corporation of some kind got filled with terroist and tooks hundreds of hostages.. I assume the SWAT would be the ones to evacuate the hostages, but what if there was such a massed amount of hostages being held. Would a more highly trained unit such as SEALs or SF members be brought in to rid the terrorist and infilterate the compound to free hostages?

Any Inputs would be appreciated,thanks.

Need to Know information. I guess all the self professed experts that "read a book" will take it from here. NO real SEAL would answer this question.

I was under the understanding that it was illegal for the military to act as a police force within the borders of the U.S. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that's the case. FBI's HRT might be able to do it.

Look up the Posse Comitatus law, and the exceptions to it.
