Have any of you guys (or anyone for that matter) tried Cytogainer? (Akrock, I think you may have mentioned it earlier) I switched to Cytogainer because it had more calories (600 calories, 3.5 fat grams) than the protein supp. I was using (Pro Complex). I'm training for a half marathon (three weeks out). When I started training I was 200lbs even. I weighed 194 yesterday. I DO NOT want to lose weight. My goal is 210. I'm going to cut back some on the running after this race. But until then I want to maintain my weight.

How much training are you doing? A half marathon's not that bad, I've ran a couple in the last few months with only minor maintenance runs (4-6 miles 3-4 times a week) as training.

I'm down to 210 now, but that's because I've been running more than I should. If you're not going for time just run less prior and gut it out. If you are running for time... goodluck keeping the wieght on. Aside from a few genetic freaks that can maintain 230 or so and run sub 6 minute miles, the two are almost completely mutually exclusive no matter what you do.

I've been running 3-5 miles 3 times a week with a longer run (8-11 miles) on Sat. or Sunday. I'm running for time. My goal is 1:45 (That's fast for me. Believe me, I don't consider myself a "runner".) I've only got another two weeks so I guess I'll just increase my calories until I'm done then cut back on the running. I appreciate the response.

I have never used the Cytogainer. Nitrotech protein bars by muscletech is about the only supplement I use. I don't have a problem putting on weight. I simple adjust my training program and diet according to what my needs are. Sandfrog's advice is right on target in my opinion. Also, consider some of your weight loss could be water weight. So it may not be as bad as it looks. I bounce between 197 and 203. Just depending on my training program. I prefer to be on the leaner side, myself.

You may try weight training your legs more. Use lower weight and high reps. Really burn it out. This will cut back on your bodies caloric burn, yet allow you to target those muscles. This will also help increase the endurance of those muscles. But the fact is if your caloric output is higher than your intake. You are going to loose weight. Just my opinion. Good luck, brother!

Good point. I didn't think about that. Thanks. I guess I won't shrivel up and blow away in the next week and a half.
