Hey i just wanted to know, for the PST at Boot, how long are the laps? I mean wall to wall, 25 yd or 50 yd?

And people keep talking about getting a slot at BUD/S, well if you have the Challenge Contract, your guaranteed a spot after A school right?

Well thanks in advance. God bless!

I'm not sure how long that pool is cause it's a wierd length, I think we did like 8 laps, or 16 lengths of the pool, so I'm not sure how long that would be but I may be wrong about the laps. If you have the SEAL challenge contract and PASS the pst in boot camp AND in A school AND 30 days prior to leaving to BUD/s then your garunteed a spot. People think just cause they pass it once they're good to go. Technically you'll take it in boot, assuming you pass it the first time, then you'll take it when you get into A school to get into the PT program there, once you pass that then you'll be working out 2 days a week at 3 in the morning until you graduate A school, 30 days prior to leaving you'll take another one, by this time it should be cake, and then you'll leave for BUD/s from there. If you fail even the last one before you leave, they can cancel your orders.

I don't know this for sure, but who really cares? just swim and finish. It makes no difference because you'll still swim the same amount of distance you're required. 25 yard lap doesn't mean you'll swim less than 50 yard lap. you'll get an extra wall push start, but that doesn't mean you'll be less tired.

The contract allows you to have 3 tries at passing the PST, which otherwise you'll only have one try.

I think what i said is correct. if not, anyone can correct me.

if that's what it is, then it'll be about 31.25 yards. that's not that bad. 6.25 yards more than normal pool.

not to get entirely technical, but it is 33 meters, and about 10 degrees cooler than the 50 yard pool the entire fleet does their swim quals in.
