Hello there, I am enlisted in the Navy and I will be shipping out next year after high school. My big goal in life is to be a SWCC. I've been trying to learn as much as I can about my future in the Special Warfare. I was wondering what a typical day was like at the SWCC school. Do you get weekends off (Saturday, Sunday)? Any input would be greatly appreciated on the life of a SWCC would excellent.

Dorian,
Sorry to not get to you sooner. If you head on over to www.navyseals.com and click on the SWCC link you can find a schedule of the daily events for SWCC school. You do get weekends off, and you will need them. I still had a great time on the weekends, though most of it was spent sleeping and packing on the calories for the week ahead. The days are hard... very hard and very long. You will wake up before the sun comes up, PT twice a day or more, attend classroom classes, and get home after dark, and then you spend time shining your boots and getting your uniform ready for the next day. It is the hardest and most rewarding thing you will ever do. If you get through it the whole world will look different to you.
It is interesting, one of the things that you learn is the difference between discomfort and pain. You learn how to put aside discomforts so that you can operate under pressure. It is very rare to see someone who hasn't been through SWCC that can cast aside the daily annoyances and get to the root of what they have to do. If you see that person walking through the rain with their head held high, when everyone else is scurrying to get to their car and get out of the rain, you may be looking at a Boat Guy. After all, in the grand scheme of things, what is a little rain?
Good luck Dorian. Please keep us posted on your progress. Be sure you are in a good PT program and swim swim swim.
What rate did you enlist as?

Thanks for writing me back. As of now I am an E-1. When high school ends, my recruiter and I are going to do a lot to make sure I can get up to E-3. I don't go to bootcamp until August and I am going in as a RP (Religious Program Specialist). After my year and a half, Call to Arms, I'm going to go for the SWCC.
