Anyone know the current length of SWCC training. SEAL.NAVY.MIL has it at 3 mo. but Ive heard rumors of it now being 6 mo. long.

2 months - basic crewman training (BCT)
about 3 months- crewman qualification training (CQT)
then you graduate and get your pin
Is SWCC, like BUD/s where you have to earn your
swim gear????

If by earn you mean Swimming in boots and cammies for 3 hours a day, then yes it is similar. Haha. You do get over the boot fins also.

The program is 20 weeks... and you know what I never thought of it as earning my swim gear until now... those ******* s! It does make you appreciate wet suits and fins after 2 hours in the 54 degree Pacific Ocean with sea lions poking around in your crotch while you swim... true story, one of the guys in my class got hit in the nuts during a swim by a sea lion about 3/4 of a mile into a 2 mile swim. The medical boat went up to see what was wrong and the corpsman on duty almost fell in the water from laughing so hard.
Anyway, it goes fast. I often joke that the only reason I made it through was that I kept forgetting how bad I wanted to quit, and when I remembered it was graduation day and it seemed like kind of a dumb thing to do then.

Grats! Looks like we need another tacking on around here. I just bought a new pair of brass knuckles, this is a good time to try them out... now you may feel a little pressure....=)
