Thankyou very much for all of your replies to my questions. Sorry to post that so many times but I get a little impatient. Would it be ok training to take baths in cold water for like 5 or 2 minutes? I really want to know how I can train for the Seals. I'm not like all the other kids that like hanging out and doing nothing or playing sports, I like to condition my body, so if there is anymore good training and especially good foods to eat, I would apprectiate that very muhc. Thankyou

Before we get started, I'd like to remind you to capitalize "SEAL".
Sorry to post that so many times but I get a little impatient.
That's what the message board is for. Post and ask away, but you may not always get a response.
Would it be ok training to take baths in cold water for like 5 or 2 minutes?
Absolutely not. You never know what may happen to you. When SEALs are thrown into the surf they are carefully monitored by medics. Every now and then they'll check them for hypothermia. DO NOT BATHE IN REALLY COLD WATER.
I really want to know how I can train for the Seals. I'm not like all the other kids that like hanging out and doing nothing or playing sports, I like to condition my body, so if there is anymore good training and especially good foods to eat, I would apprectiate that very muhc. Thankyou
One thing to remember, DON'T try to simulate BUD/S at home or anywhere else. What you can do is to follow the BUD/S warning order to get yourself into shape. Follow the program exactly the way it has been laid out and you will be physically prepared to go to BUD/S. There is usually a nutritional section that follows the warning order breaking down the protein, carbohydrate, and fat intake for you.
Go to www.sealchallenge.navy.mil/index.htm
Good luck.

Hey buddy, first I would like to ask how old you are? If you aren't in high school yet then you aren't nearly done growing and you SHOULD NOT be working out full force. Obviously its great to stay in shape but the Navy SEAL warning order isn't meant for younger gentlemen. How about you tell me your age and whether or not you play any sports and your height and weight and myself (and I am sure alot of the others) will post different ideas for you to work out.

Thankyou. I am 13 years old and about 130 pounds and my height is about 5 foot 7. I am not like other kids who can't take the hard training. I push myself and achieve my goals. I always train myeslf hard. Me and my friend, a couple of days ago me and my friend didn't sleep much during the night when he stayed over and we got up at about 5:00 a.m. and trained hard, first with our sweats and then in our fatigues and equipment. One of the hardest tasks we did was walking through a standing up length sewer with just about freazing cold water and we walked through it. Unfortunately, I had a hole in my boot so I was very cold. Our feet hurt bad. and they were extremely cold, and then later in the day, we did training exercises. But anway, I would like to know if you could give me and my friend a good training mission that is slightly difficult and contains infiltration. Thankyou, I would really appreciate if you give us a training exercise. Thankyou again.

OK first off let me start by saying im not a SEAL so i cant give you advice on training except from what ive been told by former SEALs and current SEALs and that of the warning order. But i can say this YOUR AN IDIOT for walking around a sewer at 5 am in what you clame is freezing water. What the hell does walking around a sewer help you with. That has the be the stupidest thing ive ever heard. Kids have died in sewers from falling and getting lost and such. And second if i remember correctly you are the one that said you like to run out side with no shirt at 5 in the morning in the dead of winter. Now i normally dont judge people but you need to get some common sense SMARTEN UP A LITTLE DAMN. Just do the warning order thats the best advice and stop doing stupid crap.

DMANN, insulting people is not going to help. You're just gonna anger him. I mean, you're right, he shouldn't be doing what he is doing... but there are other ways of helping him.
Warrior, stop what you're doing right now. I think that you and your friend are taking it a little too seriously for your age. You're only 13 and you need to enjoy being a kid. Let yourself grow and devlop good character and discipline... don't force it. Stop walking around in the sewers. It's unhealthy and it's not impressing anyone, trust me. Stop running in the cold, you'll just make yourself sick. It's never too early to start training, in a sense, but it is way too early for you to do exhausting workouts everyday. If you go to a decent school, what you do for P.E. everyday is actually pretty good for you, and if you want, you can add a little more to it or maybe even push yourself harder than the other kids. This is my advice to you... do not simulate BUD/S or any notion you may have of SEAL training. I know it's hard but you'll have to trust me and learn to have patience. When you get there, you'll need it!

e6286 - You're probably right, but he could easily start swimming pretty hard at his age. Swimming is something that takes years to get good at.

DIESEL your absolutly right i did kinda go hard on him but its better then seeing him get hurt in someway. You know what i got when i walked in a dranage ditch once a damn good beating so the verbal stuff i gave him is nothing. But diesel makes a really good point the pe stuff is good enough right now but if thats not nearly enough run when you have a chance and swim and bust out some push ups. Then when you get to HS get on the swim team and on track and you will be set maybe even be one of the lucky ones who becomes a SEAL at 17. But warrior i apoligize if it wasnt you that mentioned the running in the freezing cold on a older post.

I understand you were concerned. I don't wanna have to know anyone who's gotten hurt because of the lack of knowledge. But it happens, I don't think Warrior should be doing any of the stuff he's doing. I think he's just overly eager and needs to learn some patience, that way he doesn't hurt his body and his chances. Peace out.
Ok Warrior, you want advice from a "real SEAL"... Here is mine:
But anway, I would like to know if you could give me and my friend a good training mission that is slightly difficult and contains infiltration.
If you go on some type of civilian-initiated "op" and infiltrate some corporation or something, your going to have a REAL "op" covering "escape and evasion" - from Juvenile Hall! Don't do it. If you do anything illegal you can potentially kiss away your hopes of becoming a SEAL. You do NOT need to prepare for BUD/S the way you are trying to. Why put yourself through it now when the instructors will put you through it when you get there? It is not something you really get used to. You just have to deal with it. Concentrate on regular exercising - push ups, pull ups, dips, situps and do lots of running and swimming (in a regular warm water pool). You need not worry about being able to "take it" with the cold water...if you want to be a SEAL bad enough you will endure it throughout BUD/S. Trying to get used to it will not help you.
I understand wanting to have fun with a "mission" at your age. I was once that age and remember how I loved a challenge and all that. Here is a few things you can consider. But don't go crawling through nasty sewers:
1.) Ever went to play Paint Ball? You'd probably have fun at that. If not, how about just Laser Tag?
2.) If you like the feel of being "sneaky" and trying to be stealth - take a camping trip in the mountains (go with your parents though)...get all cammied out and see how close you can get to wildlife (not snakes though - bad experiences personally with those - but I still love em to death) and take pictures however close you can get. If you can successfully sneak right up to a wild animal (but safe ones - such as a deer, rabbit, etc. Leave the bears and wolves and coyotes and mountain lions, etc. alone) your pretty good. Might be something you guys would have fun trying.
3.) If you really want to infiltrate something - have your parents lock you out of the house and then get inside without breaking anything.
Just a few thoughts for you. Good luck, take care, stay alive and stay out of the darn sewers *lol* Good luck........

Thankyou very much to all of you. I did go through a sewer, but one that was big enough and shallow enough to not get lost or fall or drowned or anything, but I have got to admit, that was a pretty stupid thing that we did and when we got out our feet were very cold. Also, I didn't go jogging without a shirt on cold days, that must have been someone else. I do like going lazer tagging in Ocean City with my relatives, which is pretty cool. When I asked for a mission I didn't mean that I wanted to break into anything and stuff that could get me in trouble. I mean just to give me and my friend a mission with specific objectives that we could do in the woods, without getting in trouble or anything like that. Please try to think up a good mission for me and my friend. Please respond to this message soon. Thankyou everyone.

Doug's advice is good. Trying to sneak a picture up close on a deer or other animal is extremely difficult. If you're spotted or the animal hears you, it's gonna run! It takes a lot of patience and concealment so you'll have fun. Take it easy.

Doug gave you something to do: Paintball kind of expensive though especially if you have to ask your parents for money and they aren't giving you any. I used to have BB gun wars with friends when I was your age, but I learned better, because of a broken window and a BB in my friend's hand, so don't do it, but you could use BB guns with soda cans for target practice WITH SUPERVISION. You could also play capture the flag, that's pretty fun, especially in the woods. I'm out of ideas. Try to use your imagination, you might think of something worth your while. For exercise, I would recommend running, a few push-ups and sit-ups, but don't get into a lot of real heavy weight-lifting. Remember, have fun and try to stay fit and healthy, but don't worry about the navy until your at least 17 or 18. Have as much fun as you can before you get a job and a few bills.

Wildlife Photography is excellent.. And if you want some rugged outdoor conditioning, volunteer for a trail maintenance crew in the summer at your nearest National Forest or State Park. I ran some of these crews in Minnesota for a number of years.

hey warrior438:
your buddy wouldn't be someone who posts here already is it? he goes by the name of bronco89. one thing i noticed, you are a better speller than him. maybe you should have a spelling bee instead of an infiltration excercise. just a thought...
also, imho, take whatever EVERYBODY tells you here with the utmost seriousness. there aren't any jokers plying their humor here, no siree bob...
hey northstar51:
I think that you are the one who requires a spelling bee. After all, look at all the gramatical errors you made!
your buddy wouldn't be someone who posts here already is it?
<hr>
"your" isn't capitalized and its at the beginning of the sentance.
he goes by the name of bronco89.
"he" is not capitalized either. As a matter of fact, <strong>none</strong> of the beginnings of your sentances are capitalized.
<hr>
imho
Don't you mean Lmho? Lmho stands for laughing my head off. Get back to me on "imho" because I would go to the end of the world to find out what that stands for.
<hr>
no siree bob...
I am assuming you spelled "siree" phonetically because I have heard this phrase before, but im not sure if "siree" is actually a word.
<br><br>
Now is the time when we should all take a good, hard look in the mirror. What do you see? Well, if your northstar51, you will see a hypocritical fool, who likes to "jump" on people asking innocent questions.

Hey, nkro, at least he was able to make some contribution to the theme of the thread by saying that there is good advice on here. I'd advice you to keep these kinds of posts off of here.
you will see a hypocritical fool, who likes to "jump" on people
Don't you think you "jumped" on him a little quickly?
I think that you are the one who requires a spelling bee. After all, look at all the gramatical errors you made!
Remember to be humble, there are always people out there who have a little more knowledge. One common sense fact is that spelling has nothing to do with grammar. You can be great at spelling and have poor grammar, or vice versa. To tell someone they need a spelling bee because of poor grammar displays a lack of attention and some ignorance.
Don't you mean Lmho? Lmho stands for laughing my head off. Get back to me on "imho" because I would go to the end of the world to find out what that stands for.
Attacking people for their lack of knowledge doesn't reflect well on your own. "IMHO" means, In My Humble Opinion. So, in my IMHO, you should just keep these sort of things to yourself.

Well, if your northstar51, you will see a hypocritical fool, who likes to "jump" on people asking innocent questions.
By the way, your use of the word "your" is grammatically incorrect in this sentence. It should've been "you're", as in "you are".

just to be clear, i think warrior438 is a "stealth" poster, looking to pull everybody's chain just like bronco89. if warrior438 is real, i hope he gets his answers and that he will feel comfortable posting other questions. i would not ridicule somebody who asks a sincere question no matter what it is and i'll post an admission that i was wrong...

Attacking, how so? Anyway, IMHO, thanks for getting back to me on "imho" that was really getting to me.

Yes, I guess your right about that "spelling bee" part, let's all have a grammer bee instead! (if that even exists ;-)
you will see a hypocritical fool, who likes to "jump" on people
Don't you think you "jumped" on him a little quickly?
Well, i did "jump," and i guess that <strike>"fool"</strike> part wasn't needed (because its not true). The "hypocrit" part stands.
