Are there any SWCC Reservist units? If so can I get into one without having to go active duty?
I'm a Fire Captain / Paramedic in California and I'm interested in becoming an HM with a special boat unit.
I'm looking for something more exciting than sitting in a base dispensary or a ships sick bay putting band-aids stubbed toes. I know I'm behind the power curve on this one since I decided to follow a fire service career instead of following the rest of my family into military service, but any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There are SWCC reservist units. For the most part my experience with them have been with more senior members. I will contact a few of them and see if I can get an answer to your question. Give me a few days, it is kind of difficult tracking down reservists sometimes =)

Honestly, I wasn't able to get ahold of any of my reservist buddies. Anyone have any information about getting into the SPECWAR reserves? SEAL or SWCC? I am pretty sure that they are under the same command structure and should be similar.
Sorry to fail you on thisso far. I will keep investigating it. If you are really interested I would suggest going in and talking to a recruiter. They can tell you what you need to know about it. Even if you are in the service they can be a great resource. Also, if you are in the service, I would call your regional recruiting office. I have spoken with them in the past, only to realize that I was talking to the CMC directly on my first phone call. Talk about taking an interest in your sailors. Those guys bend over to help you out.
This is the web site of the main Recruiting Center. There is a pull down menu on the site that will link you to your Regional Recruiting Center. Thats who you should talk to. They can help you out alot.
