I was just wondering. Lets say some one that goes right into the Navy with a SEAL contract, makes it into BUD's, falls out of BUD's in Hellweek and decides not to try again because SEALs are not for him. From what I know they would be sent to the fleet to perform the Job they learned in A school. What if that Person decided to try out for SWCC, is that possible? How hard is that to do(geting into)? Just looking for any info and if that's a option.

Thanks

I went through SWCC with quite a few BUD/S transfers. Many of them had tried BUD/S multiple times. The key is that they are not going to send you over if you are a ****bag. There is a policy that they do not hand their trash over to someone else. If you would like to do this, I highly suggest busting your *** and showing the instructors that you are highly motivated. SWCC is NOT the easy way out. The training is as difficult as much of BUD/S, but has a different focus. It is an option, but you had better be ready to bust your *** and prove you have what it takes. There are no free rides in SPECWAR. But if you earn it, it is worth it no matter what branch you end up in.

Unless you have some connections, you have to be post hell week to do that now. And then they still have to like you. You can do anything in the community if you have the right connections.

Sounds about right. Basically what I was asking, is if I desided the Job SEALs perform is not for me and that SWCC may be better can I switch over mid training, thats all. Thanks for the answers.

Maybe you should go SWCC first and when you become a responsible and skilled operator you can put in a package to go through BUDs. If you are already having doubts about not making it through BUDs then you will have a serious head check when you get to BUDs. The training is about 70% mental. Meaning you have to really want it to put up with all of the **** you are going to be dealt. SWCC training is not an easy program in itself. I have been through both schools and each challenged me in different ways. In SWCC the focus is on more class and a lot of swimming drills. If your boat gets shot out underneath you there will be a little swimming involved to make it to land. I think they are both great courses and if you have the mental drive to stick with it you will not meet a better bunch of people. I had respect for everyone of my teamates. They suffered and endured the same things I did. Won't meet to many people like that in the "real world". You have to make it through Hell Week before you deserve the right to go on to another special program if you should drop, or get kicked out of BUDs. Hope this helps some of you future candidates. Good luck.
