hey everybody just wanted to say stretch those damn calves before running because i took nearly three months off from running because of achilles tendonitis i kept reinjuring it, i just started running again yesterday and my stamina has gone, it is a very bad injury since the achilles tendon has very little blood flow it takes long to heal. it has given me a whole new respect for running though i couldnt belive how much i missed it.

Well I'm glad to see you healed, Yeah, it really sucks when you injure the achilles tendon, when I injured my achilles tendon it took atleast 2months before it stopped hurting, than it was another 3 before everything got back to normal, it really messed up my workout schedule

stretching, ice and especially max dose of aspirin (800 mg 3times a day) and triple strength glucosomine/chondroitin. I did half of second phase with that **** and hurt like a *****. You can try riding a bike to keep up your fitness while you heal up.

Sorry to hear about your tendon. It's a difficult injury to overcome but I've been told it's doable. I've been suffering from it for about 8 mos. and have only recently started running again. I still have 4 mos. b4 ship out so I'm hoping for the best. You should definitely determine if you need orthotics. Two of the main risk facors for this are over pronation and running too much too soon. Those were my two causes. You may also want to incorporate heal lifts to relieve tension on the tendon while it heals. Hope this helps.

well i think my achilles problem is finally going away, it took 6 and a half months to feel alright its still not 100 percent. i just ran for the first time yesterday and think its gonna be alright, even though i only ran a mile. but im gonna take it slow, i suggest to everyone out there to keep those calf muscles stretched, this problem has screwed me badly and its gonna be a long road gettin back into shape because of my tender achilles tendon.
