Hello.
I have a question for anyone who can answer, SEAL or not.
Here's my story, I'm 16 years old, pretty fit, train a lot, study hard, no allergies or any medical problems. Until this.
My dad found out he is a homozygot carrier of APC resistance ( I think it means Active Protein C - something) which means that his blood coagulate too easily. The consequenses are that he shouldn't be sitting still for several hours, without moving his legs, so for instance he wears a special sock during flights, plus he has to get medicine for surgery lasting more than 30 minutes.
Being genetic, I am a heterozygot carrier of the same, which about ten percent of the swedish bloodgiving population is, so it isn't very uncommon. I only got to know this January, and I've never noticed a thing. It can be a recessive germ so I don't know if I will ever notice it, but the worst scenario is that it will strike through and, well I have to wear special socks during flights, plus when I get surgery for more than 30 minutes I have to have some medicine.

Does anybody know if how this APC-thingie will affect my chances of becoming a SEAL?
(Please make no replies about the difficulties for me being a swede, there are ways, and I've gotten a lot of information about it already. I've got a swedish friend who is on his way.)

Thanks in advance,
Björn
