Has anyone seen this guy called Madmax on this site who is starting this organization called The Brotherhood of Civilian SEALs? It is nuts. If you click on his profile it gives you a link to the homepage of this organization. It is very deceptive. I can't believe he is getting away with it. I hope the sandfrog kicks his ***!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is... INCREDIBLE! That someone would do something like this. It's even more incredible that people will follow and believe him. Whatever dude.

...what the HELL did i just read? some duece bag is trying to pawn off of the Navy SEALs with some crazed cult? Can someone please tell me that that is some big joke because who in their right mind would train through all of their supposed "tough" training for nothing. to be issued to some fake SEAL team...you would have to be on Angel Dust in order to believe that nonsense

I would expect to see these guys holed up in a compound somewhere taking potshots at the local sheriff's dept. before too long.

Captain Nut Job is using copyrighted photos in his web site---that is a big no-no.
I would love to take a couple of bro's to CT and check out his "Team". We will call ourselves the "Girl Scouts" and I will be the "troop leader". It would be a great experiment to see if it matters on which group you arbitrarily associate yourself with.
The winner of the brawl can claim the trophy of a box of Thin Mints.

When I started reading it I thought it was cool that some people are taking an active role in being contributing, smart, fit, non-pussified members of their community. Then I read a little more about their organizational structure:
Quoted: "The BOCS is coordinated by SEAL Team 1-CT based in Hartford, CT. This team also acts as the Special Civilian Operations Command (SCOC) and organizes all ops and activites for the teams. Each state is overseen by a Regional Command Center (RCC) and is responsible for the implementation and execution of all orders and mandates assigned by the SCOC."
I'm curious what "ops and activities" they're talking about, with a guy named "Mad Max" as their Commander, I hope they don't take themselves too seriously.
Quoted: "To become a member of the BCS you must first submit a letter of intent to Mad Max, Commander of SEAL Team 1-CT."
I think they've got good intent, but the wacko cult factor is just a little bit above comfortble. Someone should have informed them about the military's rule about making acronyms that are strikingly similar in pronunciation to genetalia (SCOC, Special Civilian Operations Command).
All in all, I think it's an interesting idea they've got with some great potential. Adventure races, shooting, first aid courses are all good, but if it's gonna catch on, it's got to lose that creepy cool-aid in the closet feeling.

Sandfrog,
I like where you are going with this, but for different reasons. I wish a "fight club" styled club actually existed. Imagine a network of A type guys from every walk of life helping each other out.
This Civilian SEAL thing is obviously an attempt at something along those lines. I can read thru the disclaimers about the law, but at the end of the day Capt. Crap wants a vigilante squad. I personally dig the idea to an extent---but he has some fatal flaws.
1) Who worth having would follow this dude? The "club" I would be interested in wouldn't need to have a heirarchy of leadership. Besides, I think most guys worth having would be intuitively anti-structure to begin with.
2) Arbitrarily associating yourself with SEAL teams is kind of suspect. I would never wear an imitation Rolex, and I would never join an imitation club. If this idea were to work, the club would need to be modeled differently. It would have to be strong enough to stand on it's own without ripping off the rep built by guys who deserve it.
3) Capt. C is advertising on the internet. HMMMMMM? Not exactly the kind of publicity I would want if I was conducting "ops" that may be frowned upon by the law.
4) What is the purpose and goals? What is the criteria? I would have a hard time putting any trust in a fellow member just because his application was accepted, via email, by a man named Mad MAx.
5) I can't decide if this is an organized street gang, a cult, or little quasi terror cells. If I formed a team in Texas, why would I take my orders from Max in CT? I can understand the benefits of affiliation, but not control.
The gayness of Max is a little to overbearing for me. Maybe if it wasn't so watered down and "Max centered" it would have potential---but who knows? I never thought a few hundered people could believe that a gun fanatic, pedophile, idiot was Christ reborn. Look how well that turned out.
Sand,
Did you get those emails I sent?

I think that Mad *** or whatever his name is should just start himself a nice little neighborhood watch or something and leave it at that. I know a lot of people in LE in the Hartford area who would be willing to help him out.
What bothers me is him using the SEAL name and team set-up. And I also agree that the "David Koresh" factor comes into play here.

i would put bets out that the military is checking out this person or group to see whats going on here. this person is probaly playing some fantasy game which will hopefully fade away when common sence intervenes. element out.

Is that the bell from Coronado,
LOL---I had to go back and look. I didn't even notice the bell before. I wonder where the person who set up the site got all the pictures. Those are copyrighted I would assume, which means he/she cannot be using them without permission. I have seen some of them on this site, and some on the Official Navy site.
