I spoke with a SEAL recruiter today. I wasn't sure if he was being pushy pushy about me joining the navy or if he was dead serious. here's my situation and i'll type up what he said:

I told him that I am physically preparing myself for Navy SEALs and that i'm working mainly on my running and swimming because my upper body strength is good. but the only thing that exemplifies me from the training is the US citizenship. I will be applying for it this coming july, and given that it takes about 8 months to process, i'll have my citizen ship in the next year and a half. while i'm getting that taken care of, i am also in college getting my BS out of the way.

the SEAL recruiter told me that there's no problem. What i can do is join the navy, apply for citizenship and i will have my citizenship status completed in 6 months. college? navy will pay for them.

so i told him that i want to go directly to BUD/S from boot camp....and he told me that, although it is possible, getting my citizenship with the Navy will be a better choice. I do see the benefits of getting through the Navy, but i don't want to do fleet for the next 2 years before i have the opportunity to go to BUD/S.

Do you guys have any input on this situation:? thanks for your time and opinion.
