SWCC Training has many of the same intensive training qualities as BUD/S. The key difference is in the focus of training. BUD/S students focus land nav, diving ops, and demolition jobs. SWCC students focus on boat operations, engineering, navigation, communications, and seamanship.
Both training requires the "gut check", the continual self evaluation that separates the men from the boys. In both sets of training, you will be cold, miserable, and forced to do things far beyond what your mind says you should be able to do. And it is all worth it.
One of the biggest differences is that SWCC students do not go through "Hell Week." SWCC school does have its own versions of hell, so be prepared.
In the end, BUDS guys patrol, dive, and blow stuff up. SWCC guys drive really fast boats and shoot really big guns. The training revolves around those mission sets.
