alright i have posted on here before about this....but i still have a few questions....i finally got my CO to sign a conditional release so i can go active duty then begin the process to go recon....but is there any way i can choose as to where i am going....i want to go to Cali, but my recruiter said it was up to headquarters and i would go wherever they put me....and once i get to my duty station how should i go about trying out and is there anyway i could not get assigned to a unit and just try out right away that way i wouldn't have to go through the trouble of having to get another CO to have to sign to release me to recon

Why dont you transfer to a reserve recon unit (Mobile, AL or Texas)? These units are deployed or deploying and you have low risk. Once you get through BRC, then go active.

cause i 've been reserve for a year and im sick of doing this reserve bullsh!t and just wanna go active , try out for recon, pass it, do my 20+ and if the Lord lets me live through all that....then go on to other things....plus im sure it would take longer or i would get screwed somehow in the process if i did the whole reserve recon deal, and i still have a lot of old buddies in Camp Pendleton doing recon and just regular infantry.....other than that i probably would....
