You can push it through boot camp, and you can be pushed -wimps get pushed, those who make the best of the title push it!!! And nobody will ever admit they were pushed to whole way, except for the recruits around them. I love to see stragglers get smoked, it makes me feel good about myself, LOL!

LOL, sorry wannabe but I got to pick on you too about this one! I've given you backup on this one before in the That Others May Live forum, but seriously, where's the big deal?

All you people make mistakes with verbal text and you make big deals about it! And no I didnt join to represent my state I joined to defend my country my family friends and most of all to fight and kill all who stand against the United States and when it comes to killing, I kill only to defend myself and my brothers and sisters in the USMC. Alot of people think that I joined to make my father and grandfather and great grandfather proud of me because they are Marines. Well they are wrong they are very wrong. I apoligize for the form in which those statments took. and I will do better in the future to watch the way in which I say things.

Dont apologize for anything. What is the point?
If I apologized for every post I made that got a critic--I would literally have double the number of posts.

If you get your facts wrong--then that's a different story, but opinions and desires shouldnt be apologized for. If you have a desire to kill--good for you. I doubt many guys in the infantry or recon picked that job to hand out toothbrushes.

Marines are always moving forward, advancing, taking the ground---apologizing is like a retreat---dont do that.

FutureMarine, some advice -Just $hit on those who piss you off! Don't get abusive, but if your ground is legitimate and not out of line, then throw down your reasoning and you can be plenty strict!

DO NOT give a rats-*** if somebody doesn't like you. Hell, I wouldn't like myself if I was sombody else, but d-you think I care? That's where the confidence comes in! I would have thought you learned that after you got out of boot camp! Just don't be a hero and don't worry about being ****y as long as your respectful! Marine Up aka wise up!

Gunny,

By now, with your background, you should know that first thoughts are not always correct. This is one of those times. There are women from Newfoundland to So. America, New York to Calif.,Europe to Asia that will tell you I speak the truth.

Re; My comment about pants vs. trousers. Even if it has been over 50 since my Platoon in Boot Camp was issued our first set of Marine Greens, I remember it well. The only artical of the uniform that was a perfict fit were the boots. Everything else was " ball park " fit. If it is to big, you'll grow into it. If it's to small, you're overweigft and we'll trim you down. When one of the recruits said his " pants " didn't fit, our D.Is., in thier own friendly manner, told us the difference between pants and trousers and NOT to confuse the two again. One of the guys did confuse the two and our D.Is. seemed to take great pleasure, with the application of training aids ( Swagger Sticks ) to reenforce the fact that they meant what they said and we were to pay attention. It seems the Corps has changed some in thier training since those days.

As far as my age and still being alive. A lot of years ago some men called Mr. Victor and Mr. Charles along with thier brothers from the North tried many times to sell me the farm, but I wasn't buying it. Although they did come real close a time or two. Then there was that jelious husband down in Puerto Rioc. Ah, what the hell, it was fun.

LOL, Oh hell you should know I was just teasing; I have a neck for giving people $hit and being all the well too patient for a stiff yet salute-able attitude in return! Even old salts tend to be my more favorable targets, if you know what I mean... aka I get a story in return or at least a spark of wisdom (nothing to laugh at). I've long learned that often when you pose or tease one of our senior military men you'll at some point or another get a shared experience and that is how I get to know people or at least online. Perhaps there's a little more going on inside this head on this side of the network!

I treat everyone I have respect for the same, though disregarding the fact I have no idea who's on the other end nor their prior history with military means, I STILL LIKE FUNNIN and I enjoy people sharing their experiences or at least a thread of history! And if I'm not mistaken, that's exactly what you just did!

LOL - you can always tell "Old Salts" by their stories, and I can all too well relate to "tvlr"!
Case in point ... when I wore the Smokey on the Grinder, I'll relate a story:

Private Webster was a kid from literally, the backhills of Kentucky, and was one hell of a shot with a rifle; but, I had to let him know in short order, he was NOT going to go barefoot in my Marine Corps and he would wear his combat boots!

I always walked thru the Quonset Huts at 0200 hrs checking to make sure your weapon was locked to your rack -- one morning, Private Webster didn't lock his weapon...I removed it and took it with me.

At 0330 hrs, I screamed at everyone --- "Wake the f_ck up; you've got 3 minutes to s_hit, shower and shave, and 2 of them are already gone...I'm pissed and y'all are gonna pay!" (Marine D.I.'s are always pissed about something...LOL!)

On the grinder, I stood on a wood platform so I could see everyone; I screamed for Private Webster to come "front and center"; when he appeared, I asked loudly, "Where is your weapon, Boy?"

The shower-shoe told me, "I can't find my GUN, Sir!" Bzzzzz...wrong answer to a pissed off Drill Instructor at 0400 hrs!

I told him to take his d_ick out and lay it on the platform; took him 2 more times to comprehend and do what I told him...after he laid it in front of me, I again asked where his weapon was, and he came back with the same statement.

Needless to say, I brought his weapon from behind my back; slammed the butt of the stock on top of his manhood, screaming, "This is your WEAPON...why in the f_ck do I have your weapon? I didn't tell you to bend over; get your sorry *** up here, and put your damn d_ck back up here!"

Finally, I threw the weapon at him; jumped down; grabbed him off to the side, and told him to place his weapon on TOP of his hands stretched out in front of him, and to hold that position until I got tired!

The rest of the platoon thought this was funny, and they spent the next 4 hours in my "Valley Of The Dolls" moving sand from one area to another with one bucket in each hand, and arms stretched straight out, running at least 500 yards, or again -- until I got tired...LOL!

Needless to say, I'm sure Private Webster still hates me and probably went back home telling everyone he was going hunting with his RIFLE --- heh heh heh!

Gawd, how the Corps has changed over the years...nowadays, Recruits have cute little yellow cards to hold up if the Drill Instructor gets too close (WUSSES!!!) ... they won't have that option if they're captured by the enemy in a real combat zone!

Damn it, I wanna feel welcome in the Marine Corps without being violated..HA they're turning them into wimps. New standard, no yelling allowed or else it might frighten the recruits.

6 months ago my friend Christy lovely D.I. was doing her morning routine and some thick headed quote @ss end quote didn't want to take it anymore and decide that rampaging all over the place and getting up in Christy’s face might make things go easier on her...... After 3 hours of being smoked, Christy made her change into one suit, then made her change into another and another and so on and so on (the girl just had an issue with order all together) and eventually the girl came storming out of the room in her underwear, but after ripping the door off and still carrying it. "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING, YOU BRING BACK MY GOD D@MN DOOR RIGHT NOW!!!"

The next part's too cheesy, but evidently the girl ended up in the steel cage! A Drill Instructor is not allowed to harm or immorally peruse a recruit; some rules aren't worth having, that's why they're rebelling more often. They need to change it to a drill instructor is not allowed to brutally beat down a recruit or f_uck them in the @ss!

I believe Boot Camp really changed years ago after S/Sgt McKeon took his Plt. to the mud flats at Parris Island. The tide came in, some of the recruits went into a panic mode, didn't do as they were instructed and several drowned. There was a huge public outcry and as a result the Corps hat to change its policy on training. Prior to that time, I think all Boots spent happy moments playing in the mud. D.Is. were able to " reach out and touch" and verbal abuse was the order of the day.

Somewhere I think you said that the D.Is. today do all in thier power to insure that everyone who possibly can will make it through Boot. Here is another area that has changed. The 3 D.Is. that pushed us had all been in combat. ( S.D.I. WWII and Korea. The two J.D.Is., Korea. Two of the three walked out of the Chosin) Thier attitude, and indeed the attitude of the Corps, was they would rather see you break during Boot than when it really mattered. In combat. My Platoon started with over 90 men. At graduation there were just over 40 of us left.

Now. As to the saying about " pants and swimming ". No, I cant say I've ever heard it before. The only thing that comes to mind is we were in water survival class and we were tought to make " improvised floatation devices" out of out TROUSERS.

Damn Bro, you just bought back some memories with the weapon on top of outstreached arms. That 9 1/2 lb. M1 weighed about 90 pounds after about 20 minutes. ( DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT ARCHING YOUR BACK YOU SIMPLE EXCUSE FOR A PIMPLE ON A REAL MARINES *** ) Then there was the foot locker manuel of arms, the personal invitation to the 1800 "thump" call at the D.Is. hut and the always popular " elbows and toes "

Not me, Doc -- did my time yrs ago; to this day, if I pull a weapon, I'm not going to just injure you.

He's going to decorate you like a mother f_cking no-goodie toshoe bag with an edge to sticky for even the back end of a tarantulas @ss!!! Just give him a brown marker and 12 by 14" picture of Britney Spears's topside view standing next to Hillary Clinton. SIR I'VE LEARNED THE MEANING OF $HIT SIR!!!

Did I ever tell you about the time when I invented the gun.............?

Somewhere I think you said that the D.Is. today do all in thier power to insure that everyone who possibly can will make it through Boot.

Nope, I've never said that. I've compared boot's D.I. effforts to Recon instructors efforts to some kid once!

Now. As to the saying about " pants and swimming ".

"If I'm not wearing pants, then I must be swimming;" Swimming in the ladies p***y; I didn't want to scream it out, but I think you can understand why it's not a famous saying! However skippy on the other hand....LOL

Do you remember the D.I.'s screaming ... "HOUSE MOUSE; GET YOUR *** IN MY DUTY HUT!"???

Wow now these are the storys I love to hear about. My Great Grandfather was a Marine during WWII and Korea my Grandfather was a Marine during Vietnam only reason I "WAS" is because they are six feet under with two .45 straped across there chest. But anyways I love listening to them both tell storys about back in the day.

As Far as the yellow card goes I ummmm lost mine 2 days in ooopps oh well. Personally the Yellow Card is for a bunch of PUSS*** that cant F*cking hack it. Hell I was always told I should become a S.D.I for the simple fact that when I was just a Poolie I washed out two kids made them go home crying wining about us being f*cking crazy.

"I am goin to be goin into the Marine soon I just have to recoup my knee I am married for 6 month to a beautiful woman that is at bootcamp right now."

I have a hard time believing you have ever been in the Corps; much less "washed out 2 kids" and sent 'em home.

Get your story straight and truthful, as you're dealing with alot of TRUE MARINES and we'll catch you in your lies!!!
