right now i am in MA "A" school and will be graduating March 18. i am contracted under the the swcc challenge program. my questions are: After i graduate from A school do i immediately recieve orders to Coronado for swcc training?, Or do i have to wait until the next BUDs class classes up?, If so when do they class up?, Finally, During swcc traing do you learn land warfare?

WOW, that's pretty cool...I just left MA "A" in San Antonio. MA2 Europa here...did we meet while I was there? As for your orders...go over to the student affairs office and bug the crap out of PN1, your class PLR Rep, and even the main PLR office at the schoolhouse if you need to. There were two guys that had the SEAL challenge in their orders that everything got messed up. One got his orders to BUD/S Indoc one day before his No Later Than date...so much for taking leave. The most important thing to remember is that although they DO care about your situation, they also have about 200 other students to worry about...so YOU have to stay on top of it - ask them questions, the status, etc... Pretty much, if you don't feel like you are bugging them, then you aren't asking them enough. :-)

As for your other questions, you should get orders straight to Coronado...although you may stay in holding company at Lackland for a little bit. I don't know how many SWCC classes there are a year, but there are 4 BUD/S classes...

I can't speak about how often SWCC classes up or about the actual SWCC training since I haven't gone yet. My understanding, however, is that there is land warfare during their initial training.

Good luck with school...stay focused while you are there and don't ruin your career before it starts by hanging out with the wrong people (and there are plenty of them at Lackland). If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at work europaa@lamadd.navy.mil
