Good evening. Quick question- a buddy is going to Iraq and is looking for an on-line resource to refresh on his hand and arm signals as well as those used by mech infantry. Any thoughts? Thanks for the help.

No need to be obnoxious. I actually found it quite easily in several open sources as I suspected I would. I was merely trying to find it quicker so that I could get to the person who needs it. This isn't a state secret. Settle down... try a few deep breaths. Thanks for your "help".

Yes. There could be a certain hand single used to indicate the inappropriateness of this question on an open forum, however, I believe that that particular hand single is universal.

Take care,
Swift

good one!

He shouldn't need anything more here in a mech unit than stop/halt, security/look, and the other basic training taught ones. BTW different units have different SOPs and sometimes use different hand and arm signals-best bet is to learn them from the guys he's going downrange with.

1) There is nothing classified or secretive about hand and arm signals or in the information I gave. If you knew how most contact is made in Iraq you would know that your comment is quite irrelevant to the idea of security.

2) Learn to spell. I suggest Hooked on Phonics. It's "Iraqi" and "soldiers" and "signals".

3) In case it doesn't show I don't play well with others...

Have a nice day,

Hope things are goin well over there.. just wondering if you're still looking to go in with those fuzzy french hat wearing guys, or if the Infantry has claimed you for the long haul?

Best of luck man.

Hey, it's been a couple years, I figured you'd know it's fuzzy french hats for everybody.... sheesh.... that particular color of fuzzy french hat is gonna wait a little bit, trading to a different color-reenlisted for Italy and the 173d, so gimme about 18mos there, then we'll see
