I am hoping that someone can give me some answers on this topic, because I am not finding anything out at my command. I have been in the Navy for almost 2 years, but quite some time ago I realized that I would have much rather joined the U.S Army. I have heard and read all about the blue to green program, but i was told that i have too much time left on my service contract. My career counselors said that i would just have to do my time in the Navy before i can join the Army. I met a guy a few weeks ago who was in the Army but was able to get out and transfer into the Navy using a DD form 368, and his chain of comand, so seeing that, i realized that it could be done. I am still in the process of speaking to an Army recruiter, but deal with complications because i am currently deployed, he has let me know that it is possible to change over but hasn't told me how yet. Please, if anyone knows how it can be done, considering the fact that I have over 2years left on my Naval contract, can you please help me, i feel that I would be able to do so much more good in the Army instead of what I do now in the Navy. Any help will be appreciated.

It's probably because no one knows the answer. Try calling a recruiter, SOF recruiters have a better reputation for being straight shooters

He or she is probably right, You have 2 years left. If.. you can find a Job in the Army (probably not hard to do...with current sit). Your higher has to sign you off. Your boss!!!! Talk to your CO (Naval Officer), he should have an open door policy.. If he says no...work as hard as you can in your job...try again in a year. Train an underling to do your job.

The key here is chain of command. I got out of 4 years of Army Reserves by going Marine active, my Captain had the final say so. Remmember this is currently not your choice. Do not use the Army to push it.
Get rank and respect and your Naval Officer should let you go unless he is understrengthed in your MOS....remmember he does need to replace you...and it does suck for him when he looses you to a newbie.

If you want it...you can get it. But you... will have to do it, not the Army, not programs, just you. Work hard at your job, train a replacement, and be respectfull to your highers. If You do this, I'm sure they will sign you off as soon as they see fit and possible.
