Ok, i want to join the Berets and i want to know a few questions. One, where did you start off, in regulat infantry. What i am going to do is join the rangers and then when i get high enough in rank im gonna try for the berets. is that what some of you did? Two, what exactly do you have to do the qualify for the berets, like what are some of the things you had to do to become a beret?

I'm not qualified but I think I can answer your questions. First off going into the Rangers before hand is a very good idea. But also the option to go to basic, ait, airborne, the SF selection is now available. If you really wanna go SF it could be a good option to check out. As for training there are 6 phases I believe. Recently there have been alot of changes in the training process. During selection there is a great deal of ruck marching, and long distance land navigation (up to about 12 kilometers between points). Soon they will also be adding in the team week exercises like moving a jeep missing a wheel for a long distance, carrying large logs long distances and so on. Even if you complete all of the training they may not select you, but thats not too frequent I dont believe. After that you go through field training, individual MOS training, Robin Sage, language school and SERE school.. I believe thats about it. I hope this helps.. let me know if you need more info.

First thing you will want to do is FINISH SCHOOL. Then think about going to college and getting a degree. Then see if you still want to be in the Military. All you have to do to wear a beret is join the Army. Everybody wears a beret now. Now if you mean you want to become a member of Army Special Forces then I suggest that you do a google search with your PC and read as much as you can of the wealth of information that is available on the net. Then you might realize that most BTDT's are NOT GOING TO ANSWER STUPID QUESTIONS from 15 year old kids who are obviously too lazy to look up the information they want. If you are too lazy to look for the information you seek, you are too lazy to make it into Special Forces.

Why would you want to become a hat?

It's not even about going to google and looking this up. All you have to do to find this information is to look through posts on Ask A SF Soldier.

That's a dumb question. It's like asking which is harder? kissing your elbow or the back of your neck.

HAHAHAHAHAHAAAA, classic. I was thinking the damn same thing.
Do you want to be a Rasberry Beret or perhaps a baby blue beret, maybe a yellow beret??? The first thing you need to do is measure your head to get a proper beret size, then determine what color you really want, finally if ya go down to goodwill you can probably get one real cheap.!
Just kidding kid, drive on. Hooah. I don't think anyone on these boards ever called themselves Berets. I could be wrong though...
I can hear it now "Do push ups, BERET!" .... "Hey! Beret...go down to supply...see the supply Beret, and get me a box of Beret grid squares!"
