Got a guy that made the claim of being a Ranger... Inquiring as to the possible existence of a Ranger "Wall of Shame".... Does one exist? The guy conveniently lost his DD214 when I asked him to show it to me. Also, heard rumors that this individual was actually "expunged" after Basic.

Please advise.

Find out if he was with one of the Ranger Battalions. When he was dicharged there are several pieces of paper work that would give his rank and what unit he was with. So, if he was with a Ranger Battalion there is record of it in his paper work. Ask for his CIF ( Central Issue Facility ) paper work where he turned in all his gear when he left. You may ak him questions like his MOS. Regardless of what MOS he tells you if he was a Ranger w/ a Ranger Battalion it will have a V ( Victor ) after it. IE; 11BV The V stands for Ranger w/ a Battalion P ( Papa ) means Airborne w/ a Ranger Battalion IE; 11BP He is only able to wear 1 beret. The tan issued one for the Ranger if attached to a Ranger Battalion. And "NO" other!!! If he still says he was a Ranger let me know and I will give you some "Only he would know" questions if he is telling you the truth.
