I honestly don't know, Fitto. Could be tendons or cartilege, could be something else. I'd talk to a physician about it before continuing. Wish I had a better answer.

Sometimes fluid between your bones (Synovial Fluid) makes a "popping" sound when leaving the joint area. Kind of like when a person "cracks" their knuckles. It could be that you may not be stretching enough or properly before your workout / run.
I would also recommend talking to a doctor, especially if it has been increasing recently. Don't push yourself to workout if it continues. Another thing to consider may be a chiropractor. Sometimes the pelvis shifts from daily tasks(even from everyday riding in a car) and causes your spine to slightly deviate (curve) This then causes your entire body to shift and carry weight differently.
Keep us updated as to what the doc's say.

its not like when you crack your fingers or anything , i think has something to do with my tendons because when i injured my ankles when i was younger the doc told me it would click and both my ankles click away while i walk he said it wasnt a problem but it was just to do with the injured part of it some how . so the part that has go me stumped is why the rest of my body is doing it . I always warm up and stretch after ive finished and it doesn't at all .
strange
but thats any way guys

Fitto you need to exercise more. A lot of non-active people have the same problem you're describing. By nature I have it... My mother 'had' it, my sister 'has' it, and i 'had' it. Until I started getting really in tune w/ physically maturing my body. Is it a type of repititious clicking in your ankles? If so, that's what I'm talking about. It seems to go away the better they shape you get in.

I wouldnt completely agree with that. I have been working out off and on for over 6 years. For the past 6 months, I have been working out constantly, preparing myself for Basic, and most importantly, my SEAL PFTat basic. My ankles cracked occasionally, I did shatter my ankle about 10 years ago, and it cracks as well, however, recently, most of my joints crack sometimes, mainly my knees and ankles, and I am in the best shape of my life. The cracking is most likely fluid, in the joint area, articulated cratiledge, or tendons popping.

obviously this thread is ridiculously old, but i since the topic already existed in a thread i figure it can't hurt to post to it.
i was hoping that perhaps an expert could shed some light on joint clicking and whether it's just your body adjusting to a more intense lifestyle or a real concern to watch over. i stepped up my workout 6 weeks ago, and in the past week i've noticed that my left shoulder clicks with nearly every other pushup i do now. i've started doing a lot more than previously, and i've also been using the elite rings 3 times a week. do you think this is an overtraining issue? any supplements you suggest for joints?
