not sure how much you wanna spend... but a simple stanless steel rolex is kind've a tradition in the teams. esp. with the back of the watch engraved.

Back in the days when you could get a Rolex for around $500.00 the guys bought them at the Nha-Trang PX. Not that a Rolex is $2,500+ for the cheapest most guys go for the Seiko Quartz. You can order thim with a custom face with an SF Flash or Patch on it. I"ve got one with a West Point Pallas Athena and my son's class number on it.

My husband was an 18C on a dive team and he loved the Seiko Dive. Now he wears a Suunto wrist computer.

Wow...what a wonderful gesture.
Honestly, in the field (or downrange) a casio G-Shock was VERY popular...but around the team room and in garrison, ROLEX and SEIKO (the one with the 3 dials on the face) were both highly prized during my time. I currently also wear a SUUNTO dive computer back home, and a timex expedition when I am in Laos, Cambodia or Vietnam. Timex is more well known over there than Casio is and the "locals" respect it more when given as a gift. Which brings me to my next point...
Another of the TRUE advantage of having an "inexpensive" good watch, is the ability to GIVE it to someone who especially helps out the team or the team members. I gave away 5 G-shocks, and a BUNCH of timex's...I have friends for life.
Another interesting note...in addition to being top notch timepieces...during wartime...ROLEX's and big gold chains could be used to barter your way out of a tight spot during escape or evasion.
Honestly though...mighty fine gesture. Nice to see this. :D

Your husband was the Senior Bow and Arrow Man on ODA 1 - he wore a sundial.

Be that as it may, it was still a Seiko Sundial. Besides, the only reason you know that he was on that team is because you were right there with him. ;)
