Hey I just have one question. I have never known this for sure. I've heard some people say tht ur going to BUD/S and others say that you're at this website just to train like a SEAL. I'm confused. Which one is it?
Wanted to say thank you for making me one of your top friends. It is an honor to be regarded by those wanting more info to be a SEAL, to be a TOP Friend. I respect this level of responsibility and promise to always provide you positive, inspriational and movitating information. Anytime, Anywhere. HooYah!
Well thats very cool. And thank you for the kind words, and hopefully someday I'll be where I wanna be. Good luck to you on your fitness goals as well.
I grew up swimming - lived near the beach when I was younger, and took swimming and diving (board) lessons and was on a swim team. Although, I can do a sidestroke, I tried the CSS just to see if I could do it and how different it is from what I know --- I can do it when I swim and the right side of my body is facing toward the bottom of the pool -- but I am so....uncoordinated when the left side of my body is facing toward the bottom of the pool...I got a laugh out of not being able to coordinate my legs with my arms -- I must have looked really pathetic....anyway -- not that I'll ever need to use it but it's fun to try....good luck with your training.
Its been better haha just broke up with my girl but im so glad i did cause she was such a destraction haha so I FEEL FREE WITH OUT HER HOOYAH!!!!!!! haha
I guess you saw my drive by....I'm hanging in...started working out earlier this year ...still stickin to it....little bit of weight lifting (minimal) swimming and bike riding -- riding on the gym equipment when it's too icy and wet and outside when there is a break in the weather.
I am always thrilled to see my name listed as a members top friends. I am humble for this honor, while the feeling of confidence overwhiems my spirit that I am reaching many that are listening to my encouragement to challenge yourself to be a better person, to educate yourself to be a leader, and to plan your goals to ensure your success.
My progress so far is weighing in at 226lbs (as of today)...I quit drinking coffee for 2 months now and haven't had any alcohol for an entire month...just quiting bad habits and replacing those beverages with milk, orange juice and good old fashioned water. I also plan on eating 70% carbs, 20% protein and 10% of fats. I should drop 10-15 lbs by the end of Feb. I read how Goggins lost 100+ in 2 months time...thats nutts and obviously can be done...but I read its unsafe. The suggested amount of weight loss per week is 2lbs. In the end of April/May...I should be performing 320 pulls-ups, 80-100 dips and 400-500 push-ups in one training session (for my upper body training regiment)...I hope I can accomplish this safely, by the end of April...so I could use May to train harder and longer, to prepare myself for the SEAL fit camp in June.
I can run 1mile in 9min flat...the fastest mile I have ever ran was 5min and 52 sec. When I ran that, I wasn't in training. I just weighed 160lbs. I'm down to 224lbs now and my goal is to reach 200lbs. by March 21st. (spring) Once I weigh around 190lbs...I should be able to run an 8min mile consistently, while attempting 5 miles or more.
Please dont worry about your english...I have no trouble communicating with you what-so-ever. Its me that should appologize for not knowing how to speak your native toungue . And yes, in the Warrior Elite, Dick Couch mentioned the 39 yrs old who went through BUD/s and retired when he was 45. I also read on the forums on this site, that one of the oldest to attempt BUD/s was 37 yrs old. If you have what it takes...I dont see why they wouldn't want to take a qualified individual. I don't have a running program per se... I just try to run as long as I can...then walk until I recover and run again...until my body tells me to stop, and start over again the next day...it's not very scientific...but I'm just building up my endurance in running...before I attempt any other programs.
I'm still training. I want to enlist under the SEAL challenge contract but I wont actually do it unless I feel confident that I can attempt and succeed in that program. I can hardley run 5 miles without it being a challenge...much less the 10-14 miles BUD/s trainees run on a daily basis. Im following a training program that will last till mid May...then I will train like a mad man and sign up for the SEAL fit camp for the month of June. After that experience, I will see a recruiter and a SEAL dive motivator...and go from there. I will most likely enter into a DEP program to insure I am more then qualified (academically and physically). I have just finished reading The Warrior Elite. In that book, a guy entered the BUD/s program when he was 39 yrs old !!! I'm not trying to follow in his foot steps ...but Im very optomistic, as well as realistic, and very persistent. My heart is into it, I just have to make sure my ass is as well . I'm hoping to perform well at the SEAL fit camp...and if I succeed in that...I will feel more confident for accomplishing that, as well as get advice and hopfully some guidance from the staff that runs that camp. Good luck to you and your goal to run 5! Olympic Triatholons !!! I breifly read about Goggins...he is inspriational
Hey Liptak, saw your contribution in the ultra endurance forum. I thought I'd stop by and say hello. Everythings pretty much the same with me...I'm still working on changing that. Take care
Thank you for the Christmas wishes M8...Im looking forward to the New Year and I want to make it my best Year ever. Merry Christmas to you too and a happy New Year. I will keep in touch
