I know for a fact I am going into the Navy and thru BUD/S but the hardest part for me is whether or not to apply to USNA, my dad has talked to me about it and I know my dad isnt a retired admiral or politician so already the odds are against me(he was enlisted), and I am not an all-state Quarterback, just thoese things may elimanate me, my biggest questions is: Are Annapolis Midshipmen better officers than all others in the SEAL community or is being an Annapolis grad an ego boost and a little extra help on the rungs of the political ladder

"Boat U" turns out the best military officer around-PERIOD! Just check my past blogs regarding where the graduating seniors from the football team report upon getting their commissions.

The Admrial's sons & guys recruited for sports make up a very small percentage of thye classes.  Most are above average students that have something tooffer the Navy and our Country.  You have to prove you belong there, and when you do-you'll be a part of something that will be with you forever!

Naval officers that are not USNA grads are still top-nothch and should never be looked down upon-It's not easy to get commissioned in any of the services-but Service Academy Graduates are just a special breed....

As for BUD/S, if you want to go SPECWAR, you just have to select the best career path for yourself and drive on.  None of it's eay-if it was you'd be in the Coast Guard!
