Hi. No I haven't had a chance to watch the confed cup recently. Good to hear the USA won. Brasil will probably beat SA and USA as well. They are just too good. Been doing not to much. Just want the days to fly by. Hope you and your hubby are doing well.
Sorry i haven't gotten back to you but things have been a bit crazy. I'm trying to clear 50 emails from my inbox so I'm just going through them one at a time.
Our weekend was cold and rainy but this week has been clear and fine. Its been the coldest winter here in Wellington for about 20 years and it started about the same time we arrived here from freezing cold Dunedin. I guess we bought it with us. I'm still getting used to the weather here, its weird it comes from a completely different direction to what I'm used to.
Hey. The women's team were great. Yay!!! Don't worry I'm sure the NZ mens team will be pummeled as well. The all blacks are playing the french tonight here in wellington and I think they will get caned as well. Its down to 48 days now ... Sigh. At least its the weekend and C is here to entertain me.
Yeah I heard on the news that SA crashed out of the comp. They choked in the game and I'm sure they will get choked by fans when they get home. The only good news is the NZ womens team got into the final!!!
I understand them wanting to restrict cats, but I can't resist their furry faces. We used to have five cats but now only have three. We adopted a stray cat in the neighborhood and she bought two more home for company. Have you been watching and going to the confederations cup its in SA this year?
I wasn't surprised that NZ crashed out of the world cup they sucked. Good to see SA made it through.
We visited the cats yesterday and they have settled in well. Our white cat Jack has even been playing with tiny little baby kittens which is nice. At least your cats travel well, our cats cry in the car the whole way. Hmm I'll have to watch out for them marking territory. I'll get some feliway as well.
I loved the lawyer jokes. Only 50 days till we move ...
Hey. Yeah I noticed that NZ bombed out. Its about par for normal. I'm not doing much at the moment just waiting for the lawyer to get back to me. I'm suffering from boredom. At least I get to visit my cats at the cattery today. J.
I drink Lipton (decaffeinated) tea...hot or cold...doesn't much matter to me. We have some others here that are flavored teas...Celestial Seasonings is the brand and some are very good...others not so much.
6th month check-up and photo shoot skinny...I have to use silicone strips to help with some of the scars from the incisions, continue doing the pressure therapy massage on a couple of areas and the photo shoot went smoothly...the second and third shots had to be re-done but all in all...I'm in good shape. No pun intended...Bahahahaha!!!
PM inbound woman! BTW...can't help you with the coffee...I do not touch that stuff! My beverages are...in random order...iced tea (no lemon), hot tea, hot chocolate, water and Margaritas!
Yeah I caught the summary of the NZ loss on the TV last night. They played so badly which is normal for them. Sigh. I didn't watch the rugby, it doesn't really interest me. I saw there was a big crash at Le Mans and some people were injured.
Oh last week we were outside our new house with the agent and a C-130 Hercules flew above us. I looked up and told Hubby what plane it was and thought of you.
Hubby and I are feeling frustrated on having to wait so long for the house. We feel like we can't really settle down until we have all our stuff back. We can't even go to the library and get out books because we don't have a perminant address. Oh well only 53 days to go ...
I didn't get a chance to see how the cricket went. Knowing my luck NZ lost just like the all blacks did last night against france.
I can't wait to get all our stuff back. C is hoping that our old TV gets broken so our insurance will play for a new flat screen one. I can't wait to set up house and remember all our stuff. Don't worry about the desk I love stationery and everytime I go past a book store I have to buy something even if its just a cool pen. ALl my SEAL books came with me so I have reference material for writing.
The black caps weren't playing today but the NZ womens cricket team crushed Australia!!! Its okay to cheer for whoever you want to. I cheer for anyone playing against Australia. LOL.
Yeah important stuff always get left behind, forgotten to be packed, perminantly mislaid. We didn't know we were going to be living out of suit cases so long, so I had to go clothes shopping because I forgot stuff.
I understand what you mean about down sizing. We had to throw out/give away junk we'll never use so that we could fit everything else in the shipping container. I think we're more minimalist now. Only 56 days of living out of a suit case to go before we shift into the house.
I saw NZ won the cricket this morning against Ireland. I didn't see how SA did? Who were they playing? Go NZ and SA
Hey Rainey. I understand what its like shifting sigh. I hope you keep out of trouble and get your visa. It must be so exciting for you. Any idea on where in the USA you want to live?
I understand about computer problems. A month ago I fried our laptop by accidently dropping a drink in it. All it was good for was as a paper weight. I'm much more careful now.
We now live in Wellington NZ. Its supposed to be a windy city but haven't noticed it yet. Its been calm and sunny, well apart from today. You been watching the cricket. South Africa bet NZ by 1 run today.
Hey Rainey. Hows life in South Africa? I haven't been on in sooo long. Hubby got a new job and we shifted cities. I haven't had time to think straight in the last two months. J.
No reason to be envious. This time it was a matter of being in a certain place at a particular time, at least that's my guess. Yes, there is a new baby girl due on the 4th of July. The last ultrasound showed she weighs about 5 pounds and was in a breech position. At that time there was another 7 weeks to go, so she could turn around. I believe the "boys" have been under the weather. I won't have time to stop over for a visit until I'm back from the East Coast on Sunday.
We definitely had a great time on this trip. Lots of cocktails, great people and laughs 'o plenty! I'm not sure who it is you're referring to or if there is a specific person you have in mind. Hopefully I will have some time Friday night after I get into Boston to sit down and email you with more details and pics. If not Friday, maybe sometime Saturday before I have to be at this function at 7 PM ET.
An elderly rancher buddy of mine always tells me that he is a sheep in wolf's clothing...I like the concept, but I still keep both eyes open when trading with him...it may just be a diversion. Yes the HMDS even made my wife chuckle...there's some truth there. How have you been?
The first couple of days the weather was overcast but it cleared up and was a bit warmer during the day. The early mornings and evenings are always cooler on the Island.
We had an absolute blast and met a great bunch of people at Mc P's the nights were we there! I actually ran into the guy who saved me on my last trip when some smooch was trying to sell me his book...Swimming across Angola. Who knew you could do that!
And, we also cleaned Mc P's out of Strawberry Margaritas on Thursday night...I had to switch over to Rasberry Margis. Good times were had for sure on this trip! I laughed so hard I got a stitch in my side that hurt...badly! And then I managed to bang my head on the heater that was directly behind me...OUCH!
Busy doing laundry before I fly out again this Friday. This time it's to the East Coast but only for the weekend. I have to be back on Monday for an appointment with my surgeon. I have my 6 month follow-up and photo shoot on the 15th. I can't believe it's been 6 months already...wow...time flies!
Hey Rainey. I took a pic of the sampler platter that someone ordered in our group the first night we were at Mc P's. It has Tater Skins on it. I will email it to you sometime this week.
Potato skins are an appetizer. They scoop out all but about an 1/8 of an inch and them and then fill it with chedded cheese, sour cream, bacon bits...things of that nature and then toss them back into the over to melt. Don't know about the beer there...I am not a beer, wine or champagne drinker...Margi's, Bloody Mary's and Long Island Iced Teas!
Hey Rainey! Saw the bridge from the plane as we came in yesterday and again while I was driving over it! We went to Mc P's for some grub and spirits but we were all bushed and needing sleep...it was an early Friday for all of us...on the way out the door for more activities!
Then the rain delay is a good thing for you. I caught the news earlier and saw who won the Indy500...too many crashes for my taste! I woke up at 3:45 this morning and wasn't able to fall back asleep. I am working on straightening up my clothing drawers here...boring boring stuff. Gotta have things in order for Friday's departure!
Hey Rainey...it was HOT here with higher temps than normal at this time of year. They have dropped down to the 70's now and they are calling for thunderstorms late tomorrow afternoon/early evening for Memorial Day. Glad you got to see the full races and the peeps you were rooting for won. Get some rest and I will TTYL.
Hi ya Rainey! I'm not into the Indy 500 at all. Got an invite to go once but car racing isn't my kinda thing so I turned it down. My niece lives and works in Indy...I doubt she'll be going either. She may be headed home this weekend since it's a long one.
I will be at the airport at this time next Friday...hanging with K at one of the bars while we wait for our plane headed to SD to board. And then we will continue on the Island that afternoon and evening. I got a new Nikon Coolpix S230 for my b-day so I'll be sure to take lots of shots for you.
I will be spending the next few days indoors since all of the outdoor work is done. Having breakfast tomorrow morning with my former boss and spending Monday out at my sister's with my younger brother and the twins...aka..."The Boys" at some place called Wild West Days.
You have a great weekend and I will keep my fingers crossed so that you have a full power Monday!
I am perfectly fine and I am never hungover. I've learned that lesson and I don't repeat it. I do however need to get it in gear and get a move on. The cake and cannoli were all gone before I headed to the bar.
Thank you Rainey! I just finished filling 19 cannoli shells...my bro did a taste test for me and then gave half of it to my pooch!!! It is supposed to be sunshine and 70 here today and no worries...I will be having plenty of Magaritas tonight...WHOO HOO!!!
Hey Rainey! I got your PM and yes that is correct! I have to get back to my baking now...2 cakes in the oven and I need to start on making my cannoli filling. Sweet treats o'plenty tomorrow!!!
Well im glad i could cherr you up a little. Thats very sad about your friends but im glad they are all right. And yes the swine flu is very bad, im praying that you dont get it. Are those 2 cases anywhere near you?
Most definitely having some Margis at Lalo's tonight in Chi Town with a couple of people from here! You know I only hang with the best kinda people...I'm sure you'll be able to figure it out. I have the full to take in October but I'm sure the L is just as good as the R! Yep...totally JAZZED and I knew it the instant I saw the image come onto the HUGE screen!!!
WHOO HOO...double WHOO HOO!!! You for the PC arriving early and me for the G2G I got after only having to have one of the two tests today! The right is as clear as can be...not one thing lurking that doesn't belong there...I was JAZZED!!!
How have you been and how is beautiful Capetown? Yes ...my picture...I think I have been spending too much time over at SOCNET...those guys have a way of rubbing off on you...LOL
Seems like bad news/good news on your elections then. Not much you can do about it though. The way I see it, they are all crooked! Great news on the new laptop that's headed your way. I much rather prefer them to desktops but then again I'm always on the laptop and rarely on the desktop. It was beautiful here yesterday and today we have on and off again rain but at least it's in the mid 70's today! You have a great weekend and keep warm...sorry I couldn't resist!
