I just want them to finish so I can get someone in here to clean up all the dust but it is going to get worse first.  They have to remove a good portion of a ceiling, replace the drywall, tape and sand it down 3 times.  That is going to leave very fine dust all over and the minute you move around, it travels from one room to another.

Enjoy the visit with your sisters and be sure to toss a few drinks back for me!

There are 2 pictures on my profile and I've left you a message on your facebook page with a link to some more photos that hubby posted.

Banish the doubt and have faith in yourself, you can get the book finished in time. I know you can do it.  Don't give up or give in, no quitting allowed! You quit on this competition and I will make you do push ups! LOL

By my counting February 1st is 86 days away. That's 86 useable days to do some writing. Ok I know you have family coming to visit but hopefully they will understand.

She's here! the USS San Juan is here! She is just magnificent. Well worth the 15 year wait and when she sailed into the harbor (well brought in by tugs) she was exactly how the picture was in my dream all those years ago. Oh and the crew looked cute even from far away. They had their backs to me. Hopefully on Saturday they might be walking around town and I'll bump into some of them!

This sucks KG.  I'm ready to head back to the store for plastic tarps and painters tape to block off rooms in the house.  I'm also looking at hiring a cleaning company to come in when it's all over with and go to town in my house.  It's way too big and every single room has dust all over from what they've done...bathroom remodeling is the pits and I've got 3 in the house...thank goodness it's just the one they're working on making bigger.  Thanks for letting me rant today...I feel better now!

Glad to hear that you 2 are enjoying things in the new locale...WHOO HOO for you 2!  I'm counting down the weeks until I can get back on a plane and celebrate a few things...Vegas style!

Better now that I'm down to getting my "charge" to only one Doctor's visit per week versus 6 in 5 days.  Gotta figure out how to keep the house clean with a bathroom remodel in progress...dust is EVERYWHERE!!!

You can rant anytime KG...personally I would have had a few choice words for that woman and they would have been perfectly clear.

How's the new house and locale working out for the two of you so far?  All good I hope!

Hey KG, the Seabees wintered over In Wellington. They would then go to McMurdo Station in Antarctica for Operation Deep Freeze. The Seabees would take care of the facility.

Yes I admit it I do have a dirty mind. But it's healthy, so I'm told. And also enjoyed by certain people I shall not name

It's what comes from being raised in a very conservative home. Everyone knows if they want to hear things or jokes that are close to the bone they just come and talk to me. Plus it's a sure fire way of getting my mother out of the room.

I'd be happy to make you do pushups but sick people shouldn't do any kind of execising till they are healthy again. And since you were sick then there is no punishment. Plus I think getting winter weather and rain is punishment enough.

It better freaking clear up over here by the 13th of November and it better be good for the week after that and the whole of December. I have plans that require good weather.

Good Morning! I was drinking coffee when I read your post. First I'm going to clean up the mess I've made then I'm going to take a minute to think about kittens, puppies and nuns to clean my mind of some dirty images! LOL

Have you been working on your book? Or is there alcohol in that Christmas cake you made the other day?

You are not a bad person so don't worry about getting that email out in a hurry. You'll get around to it, don't stress.

How's the weather down your end? Winter seems to have returned for one last hurrah. Bad storms.  My mother is still not talking to me, this is week 3. Apparently I'm supposed to be unhappy about that, frankly I think it's wonderful.

Take care now and don't worry. Oh by the way have you seen your new movie yet "New Moon"?

It's no worries, don't let it stress you out OK! Life does have a way of spinning out of control. Besides trying to store energy for next month and getting all excited for December when my one aunt and uncle from England are coming for a visit. I'm kind of going out of my mind wondering if there's a US navy submarine coming to town. NOBODY will say a thing, I'm beginning to hate hearing the words "no comment"

No worries on the drive-by KG...I know how that goes a bit too frequently with me these days.  Hopefully what I'm dealing with on the home front should be over and done with in 12 to 16 weeks...16 being the maximum.  I am going to throw a huge party and then I'm taking a month to travel...considering sleeping the entire time I'm gone too!

You and C should have a great time with the 4 days off.  How is everything with the new house and locale?

Morning. I took quite a few photos.  My hubby posted a couple on a site he's on. She leaves Wednesday so I'm hoping to get down there and get some more. Then post the best. I met an Admiral from our navy while I was standing on the moutain and I think I impressed him with my knowlege My sis in law says it's funny as hell that I'm normally quiet and silent and all calm and stealthy but the second I see a US warship I'm like a kid in a candy store and I'm a show off. I've never been called a show off before. Is it supposed to be an insult or a compliment

The week is going to be tough. Tomorrow is the anniversary of my dad. I'm good and coping well, but everyone wants me to discuss my feelings, they seem to think I need to go to pieces just like them.  I don't need to see a shrink like some family members. I'm searching for a polite way to tell them all to get off my back and leave me alone I will not spend all day tomorrow in a dark house crying. I will start the day shopping at my  favorite mall, I will watch NASA Tv and I'll sit chatting on YM with my friends.

Wow 18 days to go for you. Now can I please say "time will fly past" without you wanting to drag me over there. If only the cats understood time, they could get all excited at freedom being 18 days away.

Perhaps you should line yourself up some alcoholic drinks when that phone bill arrives. Been there, Done that, with those big phone bills they take your breath away. Kind of make me wonder if I shouldn't buy shares in the phone company, it seems very lucrative.

I'm off now to watch TV, it's the 40th anniversary of the moon landing. It's fascinating watching all the TV footage from back then. I've finally found out how they got that footage of Neil stepping on the moon from side on. It's always bugged me that if he was the first how come the camera is at his level and who's holding it. Turns out it's a camera mounted in the legs of the lander. Duh! I should have figured that.

No worries. Glad to hear you've been keeping busy. I've been glued to the internet and NASA TV watching the space shuttle.

I was thinking about you when I was watching the news about that earthquake and also the tsunami warning. Glad to hear all is well. A couple of years ago Cape Town got hit by a minor quake measuring only 3 on the scale. It sounded just like a large truck going past. I was adamant it was a quake but since you don't get one down here no one believed me. It wasn't until more people started reporting the same rumbling sound at the same time that the newspapers contacted I think it was the USGS and they confirmed it was a registered quake.

Right now hubby and I are sitting with our snacks and waiting to watch the shuttle dock with ISS. NASA TV is really very entertaining. We're also catching up on the first 4 seasons of a show called Criminal Minds.

Oh and I've been told by a friend in the know to be down at the naval base tomorrow morning by 8am. The USS Arleigh Burke is going to be docking. Won't be able to get into the base but there's a lovely view from the mountain.

It's still raining. I wouldn't mind so much if it would just stop raining in Florida so they can get the shuttle launched.

Touch wood windows has been pretty stable with me and my PC. All my issues have been hardware related. Touch wood again my internet is back to normal.

Have you ever noticed with cats that trying to bath them is about as bad as trying to give them a pill but when it rains they are happy to go outside and get soaking wet and runaway when you try and dry them off.

My sister was telling me the weekend that her cat thinks it's a god the way it behaves. She's had a cat for about 4 months now (one of my kittens) and she's still learning everything you and I already know. She had to give it a deworming pill last week.

Hi. Hope you're having a good weekend.

It's been raining here for the past 26 hours. My cats have got themselves tucked up in various warm places, including the cupboard and the bed.

Just finished watching the F1 race from Germany, too bad you're not Australian, Webber won. His first F1 race win. I'm so happy for him. My man Button got 5th place and hubby's man Hamilton came last. I've got bragging rights till the next race.

Going to watch the Tour De France now till the Shuttle launch in 9hrs. I hope they launch today and I hope they show lots on TV. Hubby's got NASA TV on his PC (via the net) for me to watch. I'm hoping to see Chris Cassidy when the astronauts head out to the shuttle later.

The weekend looks to be really miserable weather here, hopefully there wil be something on tv to watch besides Michael Jackson. The internet issue is a big one. The company are swapping over from using the rented servers they have been using all these years to using their own servers (saving money) and they're having teething issues. The biggest affect it has on me is I can't get logged onto the forum side of NSC. If I need to I can use my cellphone but they charge by the meg for connectivity. So I know how you feel on that one.

Hope you have a good weekend yourself.

Hey it's less than a month to go for you Work is good, it keeps you distracted and hopefully makes the time go by faster. How are the cats doing?

I'm pulling out my hair at the moment! I've had a week of recurring internet issues, I thought they were fixed but they've come back again. The fault lies with my service provider which just happens to be the company hubby works for. Hubby holds up his phone and goes "It's my wife" and they all know something's wrong with the internet. It's a whole lot of techno mumbo jumbo that makes no sense to me (I wonder if they even know what it means) I just want it fixed. it was working perectly Monday and again yesterday morning now it's all messed up again.

And to really ruin my week, the USS Arleigh Burke is going to Durban for her port visit, she's not coming to Cape Town. I plan to sulk all next week.

My day went very well. I'm heading to bed now, it's after 1am. I got to see a Brazilian navy ship the Garcia D'Avila it used to be the Sir Galahad (saw her in 1997) Hubby took me out to dinner as well.

I know what you mean about giving cats pills. Been there, done that and still have the scars. lol. I once had to give  pills to a cat with a broken jaw. And the cats can smell the stuff if you put it in their food. If someone invented a way to give cats medication without all the fuss they'd make a fortune. Or at least make the pills fish flavored so the cats will eat them.

Oh that poor cat!  I feel for you and I sympathise. You probably aren't allowed to hug it or cuddle it are you in case you spread the infection to the other cats.

You are probably really angry. I would be, you'd think the people who run the cattery (?) would make sure all cats are healthy and don't pass anything on. When I was 10 we put our cat in "kennels" for a weekend while we were away. The cat caught cat flu and when we brought her home she passed it on to the dog. The cat died and we had to have the dog put down.

Starlight express sounds exciting but it's probably one of those aquired tastes. You either like musicals or you don't. Maybe I'll add it to the list of things to see and do one day.

You're down to 32 days if I'm counting right.

Tell the cat I said get well soon. And you hang in there I know what you mean about the cat being your "baby" mine are the same with me, when they're sick you want them with you so you can take care of them. You could phone the place 3 times a day to find out how he/she is doing and they shouldn't be able to stop you or complain it's your cat and you're paying them to look after it.

I'm planning on having a good weekend. At least it's warm and sunshining here. OH and 34 is my favorite number Got a mail from a friend who's in the know and he says to expect a press release this week concerning a visit from the US navy. Arleigh Burke is rumored to be coming but I'm hoping like crazy Gettysburg will be joining her. I just hope she'll be open to the public.

Enjoy Starlight Express. I'd need serious bribing to attend anything operatic or musical. I sit and moan and groan being made to watch anything like that on TV. Only watched the Rocky Horror Picture show because Meatloaf was in it.  To quote my aunt "I'm uncultured"

Glad to hear the migraine is gone and the cats love you again.

You know it sounds better when you say the time in days than weeks. Saying 5 weeks just sounds soooo long!

I wish I was in the USA for this weekend. I'll be celebrating quietly with hubby and continue to dream of one day. I will be wearing my American flag t-shirt but I'll be taking precautions, there's still lots of anti-American feelings around.

From: rainey

How is it going? Is the migraine all gone? Are the cats still giving you the cold shoulder?

From: rainey
06/30/2009 03:15:00

It's good to hear the migraine is sorted out. I've been there too when it reaches a point when you get nauseous. My hubby has never had a migraine and just once I wish he would so that he can feel how bad it is.

I feel for you yet again with the cats. I've got one who adores my hubby to the point where it gives me the dirtyest looks if I come near hubby while it's in his arms.  It will scratch and claw at me if I cuddle her or pick her up and it snuggles in hubby's arms like a baby and even nuzzles his beard and kneads him just as if it were still nursing from it's mother. The other 4 cats love me though but still it's kind of funny in a weird way to have a cat play favorites.

My neighbor has a main coon cat. It came over the wall the other night and hubby actually got a fright at the size. It was very placid and behaved like this was his home. He had the most gorgous fur. I have enough trouble with cats with short hair leaving it everywhere I couldn' manage with a cat with all that fur. Not to mention if it develops the same habits as my present cats of sitting on my shoulder or sleeping on top of me in the bed.

Yes I am very relieved about my friend. The doc has given him a new diet to follow that excludes salt and caffeine and an exercise plan to give his heart a little exercise. He has to go back in 6 weeks for a biopsy on his lung.

I'm very proud of the USA team and from what I've heard a lot of people are looking forward to the World Cup next year and to seeing just what the USA can do. They surprised everyone it seems and sent out a huge wake up call to those top teams.

HI! I did hear from my friend over the weekend. He had an angioplasty done on Friday. He's in good spirits and very upbeat.

I feel for you on the migraine. Lord knows when I have one I just want darkness and peace and quiet. Are there any high strength pain pills you can take?

Feel sorry for you to on the cats ignoring you. It just makes you feel like such a terrible "mommy"/owner when they do that. I've found bribery with tuna fish works.

Hubby is in the dog box over the USA-Brazil match. I fully believe he jinxed my boys. It was June 28th a very important date for me and he knew I wanted them to win. He sat and watched the whole match instead of sticking to our plan of only watching a few seconds every 7 minutes like we have been doing. For punishment I think I'm going to make him take me out all day next Saturday, no sports watching for him.

If you could really drag me there I'd gladly tell you the days will fly by LOL. Jokes aside feel free to scream at anyone who says that, feel free to hit them over the head with a suitcase, lol.

I wish the days would fly by for you but I'm afraid they are going to feel like they are dragging by slowly. Hang in there, that's about all you can do.

If you know any jokes I'd love to hear them. My very first internet friend (he's in the USA) was rushed to hospital yesterday with congestive heart failure and I'm trying not to freak out. It's really frustrating being so far away and having to wait till one of our mutual friends sends me an email so that I can find out how he's doing. The doctor did allow him to send me a note from the ER to tell me what they were doing to him but that was 14 hours ago.

Don't under estimate the USA. That appears to be the mind set from the other teams. They figure just because the USA isn't a soccer playing nation they can't win. They're forgetting that the USA players do play in Europe too. I think the USA has had a huge confidence boost and I will be cheering them on for the Sunday match. I might actually get excited for the world cup next year and not just because I'll get to see Air Force One.

Hubby and I are doing well, just cold. It's due to be about 3C at night for the next few days. The rain has stopped but they expect the next severe storm to hit on Tuesday.

You must be really sick and tired of living out of a suitcase by now. Bet you are annoyed and frustrated. I think I'd be going nuts after a few weeks.  I'd probably be wishing for some way to speed time up and make it go by quicker.

Oh and I'm watching the news.

Did you see any of the Confed Cup game USA vs Spain (the semi final match) the USA WON 2 - 0. Everyone was talking about Spain beating them and getting a whitewash and scoring 10 - 0, but I was quietly confident. I tell you hubby and I were jumping up and down here in front of the TV and cheering, even had all my American flags out. It's after 10pm and I think the neighbors heard me screaming. Next semi final is SA vs Brazil. I've got my fingers crossed for the USA to win the final.

I'm flipping between channels right now watching the rugby (cheering for the all blacks) and the F1 practice (cheering for Button) Later today the British and Irish Lions play the Springboks and we SA fans could REALLY use a win so we have something to celebrate.

Have you heared about the Egypt soccer team getting robbed. While they were playing their match in the Confed cup a group broke into their hotel rooms and took all their valuables and their money. It's very embarassing for us, but we've been saying all along that the crime rate is out of control and we cannot stage international events with the security we have.

Oh we're going to slaughter our boys in the press when they get home. I saw the NZ women's game, I hope those ladies really rub it in with the men.Perhaps the guys should allow women on their team.

Hubby and I watch a few of the Confed cup games on TV. I was cheering for the USA. We don't cheer for the SA team, they're about as hopeless as the cricet team. As for going to see a match, To my knowledge there isn't a game being played close enough to where I live. Not that I'd go anyway, just not keen on soccer to go and spend all that money on a ticket to a game.

Cats are cute no doubt about it. And when a kitten first starts purring it's so adorable. It was funny hearing this constant purring for 48 hours. I ended up with 5 because I couldn't see myself giving away the 2 babies I hand raised, they are just too attached to hubby and I and we can give them love and attention and a good home.

Is it down to 49 days till you move into the house?
